European traders said price offers for the tender are due on 12 August.

JORDAN – Jordan’s state grains buyer has issued an international tender to purchase up to 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley, as the country seeks additional supplies for the coming months.
European traders said price offers for the tender are due on 12 August.
The new tender follows an unsuccessful tender for the same volume issued a day earlier, in which Jordan made no purchase.
The latest tender retains the same shipment windows as the previous procurement.
Suppliers are being asked to offer consignments of between 50,000 and 60,000 tonnes for delivery during three periods: 16-30 September, 1-15 October and 16-31 October.
The tender provides Jordan with an opportunity to secure feed barley supplies ahead of the autumn period, when availability and international grain prices can influence feed manufacturing costs.
Jordan is also seeking to secure milling wheat through a separate international tender for up to 120,000 tonnes, with offers due on 11 August.
Feed barley remains key to livestock supply chains
Barley is an important feed grain in livestock production and is widely used in rations for cattle, sheep and other animals.
Its availability and price can therefore influence feed costs and livestock producers’ margins.
Jordan relies on international markets for a significant share of its grain requirements, making government procurement tenders an important mechanism for securing supplies and managing food and feed availability.
The latest barley tender comes as global grain markets remain sensitive to production forecasts, export availability and changing demand from the livestock sector.
The tender’s outcome will depend on the prices offered by international suppliers and Jordan’s assessment of available cargoes against its delivery requirements.
