This will add a pet food facility and 213 jobs

The company now operates three connected pet-focused production hubs across Europe, North America and South America.
Fanon said the new facility will help create additional value from domestic raw materials while supporting more sustainable, circular production models.
The initiative brings together De Heus, VDL Agrotech B.V., Royal Pas Reform, and local poultry sector partners, including Manreet Hatchery.
The facility will enable university researchers to produce controlled feed batches for poultry trials and provide students with hands-on experience in feed manufacturing operations.
The upgraded facility adopts a modular plant concept, allowing manufacturers to scale production and adjust formulations in response to changing market demand
The plant was originally slated to open in 2023, but contractor issues and the COVID-19 pandemic delayed construction.
The Griñón plant is the company’s second pet-dedicated production site in Europe
