KENYA – Kenyan pet food manufacturer Loop Pet Food has unveiled new packaging and a refreshed visual identity after nine months of development, aiming to strengthen its position in modern retail and support expansion across the East African Community (EAC).
The redesign addresses the structural demands of retail distribution and the need for packaging that stands out on supermarket shelves, according to the company.
Loop began about four years ago with brown bags and white labels printed at home, then moved to printed brown paper bags.
The packaging became a recognisable part of its brand identity while supporting its efforts to maintain a low environmental footprint.
The new design retains the brand’s identity while introducing a refreshed look intended to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Supporting retail growth
The redesign comes as Loop expands its retail presence and regional market reach. In April 2026, the company expanded its distribution through a listing with Chandarana Foodplus, adding to its existing presence in Naivas and Quickmart supermarkets.
In September, Loop expanded into Tanzania, extending its locally produced pet nutrition business beyond Kenya as it builds a regional presence in East Africa.
The Tanzania launch followed the July introduction of Loop+, a more affordable product range designed to make the company’s alternative protein-based pet nutrition accessible to a wider market.
The range combines Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae with Kenyan tilapia and catfish recovered from agro-processing operations, fermented spent grain sourced from local brewer 254 Brewing Co, and locally sourced vegetables.
Building a regional pet food business
Loop’s product portfolio includes dog and cat food, treats and supplements. Its approach centres on locally sourced ingredients and circular production, including alternative proteins and recovered agricultural and food-processing by-products.
The company said the new visual identity reflects its brand values and will help it scale across the EAC with greater confidence.
Several contributors contributed to the packaging redesign, including Solaris Creative and Digital Packaging Innovations Holdings Ltd, along with other collaborators the company acknowledged.
The move marks another step in Loop’s development as it seeks to grow its retail presence and expand access to locally produced pet nutrition across East Africa.
