Kalmbach Feeds launches premium pet food brand under K9 & Kin Brands

GLOBAL – Kalmbach Feeds has launched Unrivaled, a new premium pet food brand under its K9 & Kin Brands portfolio, expanding its presence in the companion animal nutrition market with a focus on high-quality, protein-first formulations.

The new product line includes eight dry dog food recipes built around an animal-protein-first philosophy and formulated without corn, wheat, or soy. 

The range is designed to appeal to pet owners seeking simplified ingredient lists and higher nutritional value for dogs across different life stages and activity levels.

The launch also features four human-grade wet food recipes that are gently cooked and packaged in recyclable Tetra Pak cartons, reflecting growing consumer demand for convenience, sustainability and premium positioning in pet food products. 

In addition, the brand includes eight varieties of treats for dogs of all ages.

Kalmbach Feeds said the launch builds on its long-standing experience in animal nutrition, originally focused on livestock feed production. 

The company is leveraging decades of feed formulation expertise to enter a more competitive premium pet food segment, where demand continues to grow globally.

K9 & Kin Brands, a subsidiary within the Kalmbach portfolio, focuses on developing and producing pet nutrition products across multiple market segments. 

The parent company, Kalmbach Feeds, was founded in 1963 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and has built its reputation in livestock and animal nutrition before expanding into companion animal products.

Industry analysts note that the move reflects a broader trend of livestock and feed companies diversifying into pet nutrition, driven by rising global demand for high-protein, clean-label and sustainably packaged pet food products.
