Imas completes 10-tph feed mill for Agri-Milling in Zimbabwe

ZIMBABWE – Turkish feed milling technology company Imas has completed a 10-tonne-per-hour animal feed plant for Agri-Milling Stockfeeds, expanding the Zimbabwean processor’s capacity to produce feed for poultry, pigs, rabbits and beef and dairy cattle.

Imas served as the end-to-end project partner, handling the design, manufacturing and construction of the facility, including the mill’s steel building.

The plant is operated through a central automation system that integrates processes from raw material intake through to finished-feed packaging. 

The system provides real-time production data, including output volumes, yields and material consumption, allowing Agri-Milling to monitor plant performance and improve operational efficiency.

The automation platform also provides greater visibility across the production process, supporting more consistent monitoring of feed manufacturing operations.

Imas has also equipped the facility with remote technical support capabilities. 

Its after-sales teams can connect to the plant remotely to provide troubleshooting, technical assistance and operational checks.

The project was officially opened on August 5, with representatives from Imas attending the ceremony alongside Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa commended Agri-Milling’s growing market presence, job creation and integrated value-chain model, according to Imas.

“This feed mill project also demonstrates the manufacturing and engineering capabilities of Imas, as well as delivering turnkey solutions across different geographies,” Imas said.

The new facility forms part of Agri-Milling’s operations under Davipel Holdings, a Zimbabwean agricultural processing group. 

The company’s broader portfolio includes maize meal, instant porridges and corn snacks, alongside its stockfeed business.

Agri-Milling produces feeds for a range of species, including road runners, broilers, layers, pigs, rabbits, beef cattle and dairy cattle.

The diversity of its feed portfolio means the new plant will support production across both poultry and livestock segments, providing capacity for feeds targeting different animal nutritional requirements.

For Zimbabwe’s feed sector, investment in automated milling infrastructure is increasingly important as producers seek greater control over production efficiency, raw-material utilisation and product consistency.

Integrating automation from intake to packaging also gives operators access to production and consumption data that can support better resource management and process optimisation.

The Agri-Milling project adds another automated feed manufacturing installation to Imas’ international portfolio while expanding Zimbabwe’s industrial capacity to produce feed for poultry, pigs, rabbits and cattle.
