Royal Canin names Fernando Ferroni as new Brazil president

Ferroni succeeds Pierre Wagner, who led Royal Canin Brazil for more than four years.

BRAZIL – Royal Canin, part of Mars Petcare, has appointed Fernando Ferroni as president of its Brazilian operation, effective 1 September 2026, as the pet nutrition company looks to accelerate growth and expand access to science-based nutrition in the country.

Ferroni brings more than 20 years of experience across multinational companies, including Beiersdorf, PepsiCo and Kimberly-Clark, where he held roles spanning finance, planning, controlling and business strategy.

He also spent eight years working internationally in the United States and Switzerland.

Within Mars, Ferroni previously served as CFO of Mars Pet Nutrition Brazil before moving into sales and marketing leadership at Royal Canin Brazil.

His experience therefore spans both the financial and commercial sides of the pet nutrition business.

In his new role, Ferroni will focus on sustainable business growth, strengthening strategic relationships, advancing innovation and expanding access to what Royal Canin describes as high-precision nutrition.

“Taking on the leadership of Royal Canin Brazil is a direct commitment to accelerating our business in the country,” Ferroni said.

“In a dynamic and growing market, science and research are our key differentiators.”

He added that the company aims to “expand access to high-precision nutrition” while continuing to improve pet health and wellbeing.

Royal Canin expands its Brazilian footprint

Ferroni takes over an established operation in one of Latin America’s major pet care markets.

Royal Canin has operated in Brazil since 1990 and maintains a manufacturing facility in Descalvado, São Paulo.

The company offers more than 180 pet food products and reaches more than 15,000 points of sale across the country.

The leadership change comes as Brazil’s pet care market continues to develop, with nutrition, preventive health and specialised diets becoming increasingly important areas for pet owners and veterinary professionals.

Royal Canin has positioned science and nutrition at the centre of its growth strategy, with its products spanning diets designed for different breeds, life stages and health requirements.

Ferroni’s previous commercial role at the company included strengthening customer relationships and contributing to business results.

Pierre Wagner returns to France

Ferroni succeeds Pierre Wagner, who led Royal Canin Brazil for more than four years.

Wagner will return to France to take up a new position within Royal Canin’s global team.

Wagner brings extensive international experience to his next role, having previously served as Royal Canin president in Mexico, Global Veterinary Pillar leader in France and the United States, and executive director in Switzerland.

Ferroni said he was looking forward to building on the company’s work in Brazil, thanking Wagner for his leadership and contribution to the operation.

The appointment gives Royal Canin a leader with experience across finance, sales, marketing and pet nutrition, as the company seeks to strengthen its Brazilian presence and widen access to specialised nutrition.
