Brenntag expands reach in Europe with exclusive BTSA distribution agreement

EUROPE – Brenntag Animal Nutrition, a global leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with European antioxidant manufacturer BTSA.

Brenntag is the leading global distributor of chemicals and ingredients, committed to connecting customers and suppliers to profitable networks. Headquartered in Essen, Germany, the DAX company is active in 72 countries and employs more than 17,500 people.

This partnership grants Brenntag exclusive rights to distribute Oxabiol, BTSA’s line of natural antioxidants, to the animal nutrition industry across Europe.

The antioxidants, available in both conventional and organic versions, are tailored for animal feed, pet food, and rendering products, enhancing Brenntag’s portfolio in these sectors.

Since its initial collaboration with BTSA in 2019, Brenntag has aimed to strengthen its role as a key supplier in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) market.

Wouter Vullings, Director of Animal Nutrition for EMEA at Brenntag, highlighted the significance of this partnership:

BTSA’s antioxidants complement Brenntag’s Animal Nutrition portfolio by completing the existing traditional antioxidants portfolio with synergistic options. This agreement supports our long-term strategic goal to expand our presence as a leading ingredients supplier in the Animal Nutrition and Pet Food industry in the EMEA region.”

BTSA’s natural antioxidants, made with tocopherol blends, rosemary, and green tea extracts, are essential for extending shelf life, protecting nutrients, and enhancing product quality by reducing oxidation-induced spoilage.

Javier Letamendia, CEO of BTSA, noted, “This partnership allows BTSA to achieve nearly full market coverage, reaching new customers through Brenntag’s dedicated team. It’s a journey that will benefit both partners and their clients.

In related developments, Brenntag has recently opened a state-of-the-art facility in Mouscron, Belgium, to enhance its animal nutrition solutions in Western Europe.

The facility, operational since September 2024, specializes in products based on Brenntag’s proprietary Neubacid Soft technology, aimed at improving animal performance without compromising safety or efficacy.

This site, strategically located near major ports and highways, consolidates Brenntag’s mixing and blending operations for the region, while its Grez-en-Bouère facility in France will continue as a storage hub for the French market.

With this new facility and expanded distribution partnership, Brenntag strengthens its role as a premier supplier of animal nutrition solutions across Europe, meeting the rising demand for quality feed and pet food products free from antibiotics.
