Kemin invests US$35M in Singapore innovation hub to strengthen feed solutions in Asia-Pacific

The new facility will bring together the company’s regional business functions and strengthen its pipeline of animal nutrition solutions across the region.

SINGAPORE – Kemin Industries, a global leader in ingredient manufacturing, has broken ground on a new US$35 million innovation and business facility in Singapore that will strengthen its research, technical support and customer engagement capabilities for the animal nutrition and feed industries across Asia-Pacific.

The new Kuriosity Centre, located at Kemin’s Asia-Pacific regional headquarters, will serve as a regional hub for research, technical expertise, business operations and customer collaboration.

Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the four-storey facility is expected to accelerate the development and delivery of feed and animal nutrition solutions for one of the world’s fastest-growing livestock markets.

The foundation-laying ceremony was officiated by Dr Chris Nelson, President and CEO of Kemin Industries, and Dr. Tan Hai Meng, President of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health Asia-Pacific, alongside representatives from EDB and JTC Corporation.

“I’m thrilled to be establishing the Kuriosity Centre here at our regional headquarters in Singapore, as it demonstrates Kemin’s commitment to our customers, our team and this region,” said Dr Nelson.

“Today, we build on that legacy and lay a foundation for the future, a place where curiosity is translated into science, and science into practical solutions for the industries that protect the health and safety of people, pets and production animals.”

The facility represents Kemin’s latest investment to expand its footprint in Asia, where demand for advanced feed additives, nutritional technologies and livestock productivity solutions continues to grow alongside rising meat, dairy and aquaculture production.

Designed to accommodate more than 140 employees, the centre will cover 5,880 square metres and have a proposed gross floor area of approximately 9,685 square metres.

A covered bridge will connect it to Kemin’s existing Singapore campus, creating an integrated environment that brings together scientists, technical specialists, commercial teams and customer-facing operations.

Regional investment supports feed innovation

For the feed industry, the investment strengthens Kemin’s ability to develop and commercialise speciality ingredients for livestock, poultry, aquaculture and companion animals while providing closer technical support to feed manufacturers and producers across Asia-Pacific.

The integrated facility is expected to improve collaboration between research and commercial teams, enabling faster development of solutions targeting feed efficiency, animal health, food safety and production sustainability.

Lim Wey-Len, Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board, said the investment reinforces Singapore’s position as a regional innovation hub.

“Kemin’s decision to establish its Kuriosity Centre here will reinforce Singapore’s capabilities as a leading hub for innovative feed and food solutions in Asia.”

“The new facility will bring together the company’s regional business functions and strengthen its pipeline of solutions for the animal nutrition and food technology industries across the region.”

The expansion also aligns with growing industry demand for science-based feed ingredients that improve livestock productivity while supporting more sustainable production systems.

Christine Wong, Assistant CEO of JTC Corporation, said the investment reflects continued confidence in Singapore as a regional manufacturing and innovation base.

“Kemin’s expansion reflects the confidence that global companies have in Singapore as a trusted base for innovation, manufacturing and regional leadership.”

“The Kuriosity Centre marks the next chapter of Kemin’s growth in Asia-Pacific.”

Kemin said the new centre will support talent development, strengthen customer partnerships and create opportunities for innovation as it continues expanding its presence across the region.

The company supplies more than 500 speciality ingredients to the animal nutrition, pet food, aquaculture, food technology and animal vaccine industries.

Operating in more than 120 countries, Kemin has maintained a presence in Asia for nearly four decades and continues investing in regional capabilities to support the evolving needs of feed manufacturers and livestock producers.
