Skretting has also previously introduced specialised early-stage products in its Elevia feed in Ecuador.

ECUADOR – Skretting has launched Optiline Starters in Ecuador, expanding its shrimp nutrition programme to cover early production stages and extending the Optiline portfolio from nursery through grow-out.
The new solution is designed for the nursery and pre-grow-out stages, providing nutritional continuity across the shrimp production cycle.
Skretting said the expansion responds to the growing importance of early-stage nutrition in determining shrimp performance later in the cycle.
Optiline Starters builds on the latest generation of Optiline grow-out diets launched in Ecuador in October 2025.
The new-generation Optiline range incorporates EDGEOS PhytoComplexes, proprietary ingredients developed by Nutreco Exploration using bioactive compounds derived from plants.
The company said adding Optiline Starters allows the programme to provide a more integrated nutritional approach from nursery and pre-grow-out through to grow-out.
“A good start can translate into better growth rates, shorter production cycles and more efficient use of resources,” Skretting said in a press release, adding that adequate nutrition during the early stages can help maximise producers’ return on investment by supporting performance throughout the production cycle.
The new product forms part of Skretting’s wider focus on precision nutrition for shrimp producers facing pressures around production efficiency, health and environmental performance.
Focus on early-stage shrimp nutrition
According to Skretting, the early stages of shrimp production are increasingly important for establishing performance across the full production cycle.
Its Ecuador operation is now positioning Optiline as a nutrition programme spanning multiple stages of shrimp farming.
Skretting Ecuador recently highlighted Optiline Starters as a programme for pre-cría, postransferencia and engorde, designed to support growth, feed efficiency and production performance under challenging farming conditions.
Marita Montserrate, Innovation Director at Skretting LATAM, said the company would continue investing in innovation and ingredient diversity to support shrimp producers.
“We are very excited to continue advancing our innovation strategy with the launch of Optiline Starters. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and ingredient diversity to support animal performance, while advancing our purpose of Feeding the Future,” she said.
The launch follows Skretting’s continued development of specialised shrimp nutrition products for different stages of production.
The company’s Ecuador portfolio includes feeds and nutritional solutions covering hatchery, nursery, grow-out and broodstock applications.
Skretting has also previously introduced specialised early-stage products in Ecuador.
Its Elevia feed, launched for shrimp hatcheries and nurseries, was designed to improve larval performance, support water quality and simplify feed management.
With Optiline Starters, Skretting is extending this early-stage focus into its Optiline programme, aiming to give producers a continuous nutritional strategy from the beginning of the shrimp production cycle through grow-out.
