Symaga upgrades feed silo range with stronger steel and larger storage models

SPAIN – Symaga, a global leader in galvanised steel silo manufacturing, has enhanced its feed silo portfolio by introducing higher-strength S450GD structural steel and expanding its range of Ø3.80-metre feed silos, strengthening durability, storage flexibility and supply chain resilience for livestock producers.

The upgrades form part of the company’s Annual Product Development Plan and are designed to improve the performance of feed storage systems used in modern livestock operations.

Beginning in August 2026, Symaga will transition its farm silo production from S350GD to S450GD structural steel, increasing the material’s yield strength from 350 N/mm² to 450 N/mm².

According to the company, the stronger steel will improve the mechanical performance and structural resistance of its feed silos while ensuring greater consistency in raw material supply.

The transition will also allow both steel grades to be used during the changeover period, helping maintain production continuity and strengthening procurement flexibility.

Larger storage options for livestock farms

Alongside the material upgrade, Symaga has expanded its Ø3.80-metre silo range with new models offering storage capacities of up to 86 cubic metres.

The additional configurations are intended to provide livestock producers with greater flexibility when selecting feed storage systems suited to different farm sizes, feeding programmes and operational requirements.

By increasing storage capacity, the new models can help farms reduce the frequency of feed deliveries, improve inventory management, and support more efficient feeding operations.

Symaga said the product enhancements reflect its ongoing commitment to developing practical storage solutions that improve operational efficiency and reliability for livestock producers.

The company added that adopting more durable materials while broadening its product range enables its feed silos to better meet the evolving requirements of modern livestock farming.

Feed storage remains a critical component of livestock production, helping to preserve feed quality, minimise waste, and ensure a consistent supply of feed to poultry, dairy, swine, and ruminant operations. 

Manufacturers are increasingly focusing on stronger materials and larger storage capacities as farms continue to scale production and invest in more efficient feeding systems.
