Organisers announced that VIV Select China 2026 will take place August 19–21 alongside Pet Fair Asia in venues that are 15 minutes apart.

CHINA – VIV Select China 2025 closed on September 12 at the Nanjing International Expo Center after three days of record-breaking participation, reaffirming its role as China’s premier livestock industry export platform and a hub for global cooperation.
The event, co-organised by Globus Events and VNU Europe, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and international buyers for business networking, knowledge sharing, and market expansion.
This year’s edition featured 485 exhibitors from more than a dozen countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, the United States, Canada, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam, Thailand, India, and Malaysia, filling over 30,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Nearly 17,000 visitors registered from 108 countries and regions, with more than 2,300 international attendees and over 2,000 conference participants.
More than 10 official buying delegations from Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and Belt and Road regions underscored the exhibition’s global appeal.
Industry leaders such as Nxin Digital Intelligence, China Animal Husbandry, Sunhy, Zhejiang Medicine, and Wanhua Chemical showcased cutting-edge technologies and livestock solutions, highlighting the depth and diversity of China’s livestock sector.
According to organisers, exhibitor participation grew by more than 20% compared to the previous edition, while international interest hit new highs, reflecting both robust domestic innovation and growing demand from emerging markets.
“What impressed me most at VIV Select China was the energy on the floor,” said Natalie Taylor, VIV Select China Project Manager. “It wasn’t just about showing products, it was about making those connections. And now, with the move to Shanghai, the centre of China’s business world, this exchange will only become stronger.”
Shanghai to host next edition in 2026
Building on this momentum, organisers announced that VIV Select China 2026 will take place August 19–21 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center under the theme Connecting the Globe, Building a One-Stop Livestock Trade Platform.
The move reflects a strategic upgrade, leveraging Shanghai’s role as a global trade hub and its proximity to the Yangtze River Delta livestock cluster.
“Bringing VIV Select China to Shanghai is a natural step forward,” said Jeroen van Hooff, President & CEO of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs. “Shanghai is not only a global hub for business, but also a place where international and Chinese markets meet every day. By moving the show here, we are giving our partners and exhibitors the best stage to connect, exchange ideas, and grow together.”
Edwin Tan, CEO of Globus Events, emphasised the global vision behind the relocation: “The relocation of VIV Select China 2026 back to Shanghai marks a milestone, taking the platform’s internationalisation to a new height. Shanghai enables VIV Select China to fulfil better VIV Worldwide’s mission of integrating industry resources and to promote further the deep integration of China’s livestock technologies with global markets.”
Expanding Opportunities Ahead
The Shanghai edition will feature four major highlights: a “V-AI+ Smart Livestock” zone spotlighting AI and IoT applications in farming, full industry-chain coverage linking feed-to-food sectors, dedicated zones for low-carbon and green technologies, and expanded international pavilions to foster cross-border collaboration.
In addition, the event will run in conjunction with Pet Fair Asia, taking place only 15 minutes from VIV Select China, creating a dual exhibition platform that bridges the livestock and pet industries, complete with shuttle connections, joint conferences, and student-professional exchange programs.
Since its launch in China in 2000, VIV Select has built a reputation for professionalism, efficiency, and international openness.
With its move to Shanghai, the exhibition aims to strengthen its role as a gateway connecting China’s livestock industry to global markets and positioning enterprises at the forefront of sustainable, technology-driven growth.
