Biochem expands in Central Asia and earns sustainability recognition

Biochem received a silver medal from EcoVadis, reflecting the company’s progress in embedding environmental practices throughout its operations.

KAZAKHSTAN – Biochem, a global animal nutrition company specializing in feed additives and dietary supplements, has expanded its footprint in Central Asia with the opening of a new office in Almaty, Kazakhstan. 

The move is aimed at improving customer service, reducing delivery times, and reinforcing the company’s commitment to long-term partnerships in the region.

The new office is supported by a warehouse facility, enabling Biochem to provide quicker access to its products through trusted distributors and direct engagement with customers. 

According to the company, the development underscores its investment in high-growth markets and its focus on strengthening relationships across Central Asia.

EcoVadis silver medal highlights sustainability performance 

Alongside its geographic expansion, Biochem has been recognized for its sustainability efforts with a silver medal from EcoVadis, a leading global provider of business sustainability ratings. 

The award reflects the company’s progress in embedding environmental and ethical practices throughout its operations.

Biochem first underwent EcoVadis assessment in 2017 and has since steadily advanced its performance across all four evaluation themes: Environment, Ethics, Labor and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. 

In the 2025 rating, the company scored 74 points, placing it in the 92nd percentile among assessed companies. 

EcoVadis highlighted Biochem’s strong transparency in ethics policies and its comprehensive commitments on environmental and labor standards.

This year’s rating reflects our multifaceted commitment to sustainability,” Hüttmannsberger continued. “It demonstrates that we have embedded sustainability across all our business processes. We are working every day towards our sustainability ambitions.”

EcoVadis ratings are based on recognized global standards, including the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles, International Labour Organization conventions, GRI reporting standards, and ISO 26000.
