THAILAND – Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) has become the first organisation in Thailand to secure the prestigious Global G.A.P. certification for its livestock feed business.
The certification was awarded to CP Foods’ Pak Thong Chai and Sriracha feed mills by Control Union (Thailand), marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainability and global food safety standards.
Rewat Hathaisattayapong, Head of Feed Business at CP Foods, lauded the accomplishment, emphasising the company’s dedication to producing safe, high-quality animal feed.
“By adopting internationally recognised standards, we’ve demonstrated excellence in quality, safety, and ESG practices. This certification validates our processes and sets a benchmark for our other feed production facilities and the wider industry,” Rewat stated.
The Global G.A.P. standard, recognised worldwide for its emphasis on good agricultural practices, assesses a company’s production processes, environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance.
CP Foods’ adherence to these principles underscores its commitment to traceability and innovation, ensuring that its animal feed meets the highest global standards before reaching livestock farms and consumers.
The achievement was celebrated by Stephan Moreels, Managing Director of Control Union (Thailand), who highlighted CP Foods’ leadership in the industry.
“This certification reflects CP Foods’ relentless dedication to sustainable energy, fair labour practices, and community engagement. Their ability to overcome challenges and lead with vision is truly commendable,” he said.
CP Foods has a long history of prioritising quality and safety in its operations, implementing the ISO 9001 standard in animal feed production since 2000.
The company continues to elevate its practices to meet international trade requirements and consumer demands for safe, traceable, and environmentally responsible products.
This certification strengthens CP Foods’ global market position and underscores its leadership in Thailand’s animal feed industry. It also aligns with the increasing importance of ESG principles among consumers and partners.
“Our journey is just beginning,” Rewat concluded. “This milestone inspires us to share our knowledge and elevate food safety standards across Thailand and beyond.”
As CP Foods paves the way for sustainability and innovation, its certification reflects a significant step forward for Thailand’s livestock feed sector, ensuring a safer and more sustainable future for producers and consumers alike.
