With ADB backing, De Heus TMH now trains 2,000 farmers and processes 18,000 tonnes of raw materials monthly to boost Cambodia’s livestock feed supply.
“By combining our expertise with CJ Feed & Care, we can help farmers boost efficiency, professionalism, and profitability,” said De Heus.
The new Athi River factory strengthens local feed supply as Kenya seeks to cut import reliance.
The partnership is designed to address growing international demand for responsibly produced seafood, particularly in high-end markets.
The deal includes 17 feed mills and is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending customary regulatory approvals.
This comes on the heels of another major inauguration of an aquafeed plant by De Heus Uganda.
De Heus already operates a poultry feed factory in Attinguié, near Abidjan, which opened in 2023 with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons.
The facility is set to create demand for locally grown crops such as maize, cassava, and soybeans, strengthening linkages across the agricultural value chain.
This investment reflects De Heus’s commitment to empowering East African fish farmers with high-quality, locally produced aquafeed for the sustainable development of the region’s aquaculture.
Voeders Huy’s production facilities will add approximately 250,000 tons of annual feed capacity to De Heus’ operations.
