Royal Canin strengthens Singapore presence to advance pet health

By localising its operations, Royal Canin says it will provide more accessible services and strengthen its role as a trusted partner in advancing pet health.

SINGAPORE – Royal Canin, a division of Mars Inc. and one of the world’s leading names in pet health and nutrition, has officially established its owned presence in Singapore.

The move marks a key step in the company’s mission to improve the lives of cats and dogs through precise, science-based nutrition.

By anchoring itself more firmly in Southeast Asia, Royal Canin aims to strengthen collaboration with veterinarians, breeders, and pet owners while catering to the region’s expanding pet population.

Growing pet community in Singapore

Pet ownership in the Asia-Pacific region surged during the pandemic as households sought companionship, stress relief, and emotional support from animals. This trend has endured, with pets increasingly regarded as full members of the family.

In Singapore, the transformation is evident in a rising number of dog-friendly cafés, pet spas, and community parks, underscoring the city-state’s evolution into a pet-friendly hub.

Industry data supports this growth. According to Pet Fair Southeast Asia, Singapore’s pet care market is projected to expand by 5 to 6 percent in 2025, reaching between SGD 350 million (approximately US$273 million) and SGD 400 million (approximately US$312 million).

Analysts point to an ageing pet population, advances in veterinary care, and consumer demand for health-focused products as drivers of this continued expansion.

Science-Backed Nutrition and Local Collaboration

Royal Canin emphasises that its deeper footprint in Singapore will allow the company to engage more closely with local experts and pet professionals.

Backed by over five decades of scientific research, the company has developed more than 400 specialised nutritional products tailored to the specific needs of cats and dogs.

These diets, the company states, are continually refined through collaboration with veterinarians, breeders, and researchers to deliver measurable health benefits.

At Royal Canin, we firmly believe that pets are not just companions, they are part of our family,” said David Cai, Regional President Asia-Pacific at Royal Canin.

Establishing our owned presence in Singapore allows us to be closer to our partners and the pet community, enabling us to share knowledge, co-create solutions, and support the unique needs of cats and dogs.

Empowering owners and professionals

Beyond food products, Royal Canin is investing in tools, services, and educational resources designed to empower both pet owners and professionals.

These initiatives aim to enhance understanding of pets’ evolving needs, while offering practical support for improved care and nutrition.

The company’s establishment in Singapore signals a long-term investment in the region. By localising its operations, Royal Canin says it will be able to provide more accessible services and strengthen its role as a trusted partner in advancing pet health.
