Kormotech expands into Belgium as European growth strategy gathers pace

Kormotech aims to understand each market, identify the needs of local consumers, and build long-term partnerships

BELGIUM – Ukrainian pet food manufacturer Kormotech has entered the Belgian market through a retail partnership with Famiflora, marking another step in the company’s Western European expansion as it pursues its goal of becoming one of the world’s top 30 pet food producers by 2029.

The company’s products are now available in Famiflora, one of Belgium’s leading garden, home and pet retail chains, giving Kormotech access to a highly competitive market where consumers place strong emphasis on product quality and value.

The launch introduces four Kormotech brands: Optimeal, CLUB 4 PAWS, Delickcious and My Love to Belgian consumers.

According to the company, the partnership originated from discussions between Kormotech and Famiflora representatives during an international trade exhibition in Bangkok before developing into a commercial agreement over the past several months.

Uliana Fitsa, Kormotech’s Logistics Director and Head of Sales for Western Europe, said the agreement demonstrates the company’s growing competitiveness in international markets.

“Every new market has its own story, and our entry into Belgium began with a chance meeting between our colleagues and the Famiflora team at a trade exhibition in Bangkok,” Fitsa said.

“The fact that our product range is now available in Belgium says a great deal about the quality and competitiveness of our products.”

The company reported encouraging early sales, with Belgian consumers showing the strongest demand for wet pet food under the Optimeal and CLUB 4 PAWS brands during the first month of distribution.

Fitsa said Kormotech’s international expansion strategy prioritises building long-term partnerships and understanding the needs of individual markets rather than pursuing rapid geographical growth.

“Our priority is not rapid expansion but understanding each market, identifying the needs of local consumers, and building long-term partnerships,” she said.

Belgium represents another milestone in Kormotech’s wider European growth strategy as demand for premium pet nutrition products continues to increase across the region.

The company currently exports to more than 50 countries and has been steadily expanding its international footprint while investing in product innovation and market development.

Founded in Ukraine in 2003, Kormotech manufactures dog and cat food under the Optimeal, CLUB 4 PAWS, Delickcious, My Love, Meow! and Gav! brands.

The company operates production facilities in both Ukraine and the European Union, producing more than 650 pet food products.

The Belgian expansion supports Kormotech’s long-term ambition of generating annual revenue of €500 million (US$573 million) by 2029, with €300 million (US$344 million) expected to come from European markets.

As competition intensifies across Europe’s pet food sector, the company says it will continue evaluating new markets, tailoring products to local consumer preferences and strengthening relationships with retail partners that share its commitment to quality, responsible pet ownership and long-term collaboration.
