Al Dahra signs MoU with Al Rawabi Dairy to strengthen dairy animal feed supply

UAE – Al Dahra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Rawabi Dairy Company to strengthen animal feed supply capabilities and enhance resilience across the UAE’s dairy and wider livestock value chain, in a move aimed at improving supply security and supporting long-term food production efficiency.

The partnership marks the evolution of a long-standing commercial relationship into a more strategic collaboration focused on feed, forage, grains, and integrated agricultural supply solutions tailored to dairy production needs.

Under the agreement, Al Dahra will work to strengthen Al Rawabi’s animal feed supply chain by securing key feed commodities and forage inputs more securely, while jointly exploring opportunities to improve efficiency across livestock nutrition systems.

A core focus of the partnership is ensuring consistent access to high-quality feed resources, a critical factor in dairy productivity, herd health, and milk output stability in the region’s challenging climatic conditions.

“This partnership reflects our shared ambition to strengthen food supply and drive greater efficiency across the dairy value chain,” the companies said in a joint statement shared on LinkedIn.

Feed supply security and forage systems at the centre of collaboration

Under the MoU, Al Dahra will provide tailored feed solutions, including forage production, feed commodities, and grains, to support Al Rawabi’s dairy operations and enhance operational resilience.

The collaboration also includes exploring integrated supply models to improve sourcing reliability and reduce exposure to global feed market volatility, which has increasingly affected livestock production costs across the Middle East.

Feed efficiency remains a key constraint in dairy systems, particularly in import-dependent markets such as the UAE, where climatic limitations necessitate heavy reliance on imported feed inputs and strategic global sourcing.

Expanding livestock nutrition value chains and global farming cooperation

Beyond feed supply, both companies will explore broader agricultural cooperation, including global farming initiatives and supply chain optimisation projects that leverage their combined expertise in agriculture, logistics, and sustainable production systems.

The partnership is expected to support more structured integration between feed sourcing, livestock production, and dairy processing, helping improve efficiency across the full value chain.

Al Dahra said the agreement aligns with its broader strategy to build resilient agricultural partnerships that enhance local production capacity and strengthen food security frameworks in the UAE.

The UAE imports an estimated 85-90 per cent of its food requirements, making supply chain resilience and feed security critical priorities for livestock and dairy producers.

Within this context, stable access to feed inputs such as forage and grains is increasingly seen as a strategic lever for national food security and agricultural sustainability.

Al Dahra’s broader portfolio of partnerships, including logistics-focused collaborations with DP World, reflects a growing emphasis on integrated agri-food systems designed to improve supply chain efficiency across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and international trade corridors.
