Al Dahra partners with ADECH to advance specialised feed and nutrition solutions

UAE – Al Dahra, a global agribusiness group headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Equine and Camel Hospital (ADECH) to develop specialised feed, forage, and nutritional solutions for horses and camels, strengthening collaboration within the UAE’s animal health and nutrition ecosystem.

The partnership positions Al Dahra as a preferred supplier of feed and forage products to ADECH, while both organisations explore wider cooperation in product development, market engagement, and research and development. 

The initiative is intended to enhance animal nutrition standards, improve performance outcomes, and support animal welfare across the equine and camel sectors.

The agreement was signed during the Make it in the Emirates event and marks the beginning of a longer-term collaboration focused on innovation and specialised nutrition solutions tailored to high-performance animals.

Al Dahra operates a globally integrated feed and forage platform sourcing approximately 2.5 million tonnes of feed annually through an extensive network of production facilities and strategic partners. 

The company said this scale enables consistent quality, supply reliability, and product development for specialised animal nutrition markets.

Focus on performance nutrition and sector collaboration

Wissam Abbas, Managing Director at Al Dahra GCC, said the partnership aligns with the company’s strategic focus on high-performance feed solutions and expanding its presence in specialised animal nutrition segments.

“This partnership reflects Al Dahra’s strategic focus on specialised high-performance feed solutions, and aligns with Al Dahra’s growing focus on the equine and camel feed segment in the UAE,” he said. 

“Working with a centre of excellence like ADECH enables us to refine products, share knowledge, and support product differentiation and long-term excellence in equine and camel nutrition.”

ADECH, recognised as the world’s first dual-species referral hospital for horses and camels, will contribute veterinary expertise to support the development of targeted nutritional approaches and performance-focused feeding programmes.

ADECH Chief Executive Officer Alpha Kennedy said the collaboration will strengthen integration between veterinary care and nutrition science, aiming to improve health and performance outcomes for horses and camels across the UAE.

“This collaboration represents an important step in strengthening the integration between advanced veterinary care and high-quality nutrition,” he said. 

“Building on Al Dahra’s scale and feed expertise, this partnership will enable customers to achieve healthier, higher-performing horses and camels across the UAE.”

The agreement reflects a broader trend in the Gulf region toward integrating agribusiness, animal health, and research capabilities to support food security, livestock performance, and specialised animal industries, particularly in high-value equine and camel sectors.
