BioMar expands ASC-certified feed production network into Asia

The certification marks another important milestone in the continued expansion of BioMar’s global network of ASC-certified feed production facilities.

VIETNAM – BioMar has expanded its global network of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)-certified feed production facilities into Asia after its BioMar Viet Uc plant in Vietnam achieved ASC Feed Certification, strengthening the company’s ability to supply responsibly produced aquafeed across the region.

The certification makes the Vietnam facility BioMar’s first ASC-certified feed production site in Asia and supports aquaculture producers seeking to meet growing sustainability and certification requirements in international seafood markets.

Located in Vietnam, the BioMar Viet Uc plant manufactures feed for both shrimp and fish farming, serving key aquaculture markets across Asia.

The ASC Feed Standard sets strict requirements covering responsible sourcing of raw materials, environmental performance, labour and social responsibility, and occupational health and safety.

According to BioMar, achieving the certification reinforces its commitment to transparent supply chains and responsible feed production.

“This certification represents an important milestone for BioMar, BioMar Viet-Uc and our customers across Asia,” said Duong Tu, Managing Director of BioMar Viet-Uc.

“It strengthens our ability to support farmers working towards ASC certification while reinforcing our commitment to responsible aquaculture throughout the region.”

Supporting sustainable aquaculture growth

Asia remains the world’s largest aquaculture-producing region and continues to experience rising demand for seafood produced under internationally recognised sustainability standards.

As more retailers and seafood buyers require certified products, feed manufacturers are increasingly aligning production with standards such as ASC to help producers maintain market access and demonstrate responsible farming practices.

By offering ASC-conforming feed, BioMar aims to help shrimp and fish farmers achieve ASC farm certification while improving traceability across the aquaculture value chain.

The certification also expands BioMar’s global network of ASC-certified production facilities, which already includes plants in Europe, Latin America and Oceania.

According to the company, the growing network enables it to supply certified feed solutions across multiple aquaculture species, production systems and international markets while supporting the industry’s transition towards more sustainable seafood production.

The latest certification strengthens BioMar’s position in Asia’s rapidly expanding aquaculture sector, where demand for sustainable feed and responsible sourcing continues to increase alongside export opportunities for certified seafood.
