Boehringer Ingelheim opens US Animal Health headquarters in Georgia

USA – Boehringer Ingelheim has opened a new US Animal Health headquarters in Johns Creek, Georgia, expanding its presence in a state that hosts research, development, and manufacturing operations for the company.

The new headquarters brings together employees and commercial activities, supporting collaboration and the development of animal health solutions for companion animals and livestock.

Johns Creek was selected for its access to talent within a growing life sciences and innovation corridor, as well as its proximity to Boehringer Ingelheim’s other Georgia operations.

“The animals we care for and the customers we serve are at the center of everything we do,” said Peter Ploeger, US Animal Health country managing director at Boehringer Ingelheim.

Ploeger said the headquarters was designed to bring employees together, support collaboration and strengthen the company’s ability to develop solutions for companion animals, livestock and the people who care for them.

The Johns Creek facility complements Boehringer Ingelheim’s wider Georgia footprint, which includes research, development and manufacturing operations in Athens and manufacturing operations in Gainesville.

Together, the sites combine manufacturing, innovation and commercial activities and form part of the company’s continued investment in Georgia, according to Boehringer Ingelheim.

Dr Armin Wiesler, member of the Board of Managing Directors of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Animal Health Business Unit, said the investment underlines the importance of the US market to the company’s global animal health activities.

The company said the new headquarters will support its efforts to deliver animal health solutions internationally, spanning both companion animal and livestock markets.

As part of the opening, Boehringer Ingelheim also donated NexGard® Plus parasite protection to the Johns Creek Police Department’s K-9 Unit. 

Alexandra McMenamy, head of Pet at Boehringer Ingelheim US Animal Health, joined local officials in presenting the donation.

The donation followed International Dog Day on 26 August and highlighted the company’s focus on animal health and community engagement.

Boehringer Ingelheim’s Animal Health business develops medicines, vaccines and other solutions for companion animals and livestock, with the Georgia operations supporting research, manufacturing and commercial activities.
