UBM Feed completes 65% acquisition of Greek feed producer EL.VI.Z

The company had previously announced plans to acquire 65% of EL.VI.Z, with a further 35% stake planned to be acquired within three years.

GREECE – UBM Feed Zrt., the feed business of Hungarian agribusiness group UBM Holding Nyrt., has completed the acquisition of a 65% stake in Greek feed producer EL.VI.Z SA, strengthening its position in the Greek market and advancing its wider international expansion strategy.

The transaction follows a share purchase agreement signed on 22 May 2026 and gives UBM Feed a majority stake in Ellinikes Viomichanies Zootrofon, known as EL.VI.Z.

UBM said the completed acquisition marks a significant step in strengthening its international presence. EL.VI.Z is the third-largest feed manufacturer in Greece and operates two feed mills in Platy and Xanthi.

The company had previously announced plans to acquire 65% of EL.VI.Z, with a further 35% stake planned to be acquired within three years.

The transaction was positioned as a way for UBM to strengthen its access to the Greek market and establish a platform for expansion into Western Balkan markets.

UBM expands international feed footprint

The Greek acquisition is part of UBM’s broader push to expand beyond its established Central European markets.

In Kazakhstan, the group has been developing a joint investment with KazFoodProducts to establish a premix plant in the Almaty region.

The planned facility is expected to have annual production capacity of 48,000 tonnes and will be supported by a laboratory and research and development training centre.

UBM has identified Kazakhstan’s agricultural, livestock and feed sectors as key areas for long-term investment.

The company has also been targeting growth in feed production and trading, with UBM highlighting a long-term objective of reaching one million tonnes of combined feed manufacturing and trading.

Its international expansion follows earlier consolidation in the Hungarian market.

In September 2025, UBM completed the acquisition of Agrifirm Magyarország Zrt., strengthening its position in Hungary’s feed and agricultural input markets.

UBM’s investor disclosures list the Agrifirm acquisition among its recent strategic transactions.

UBM has said that expanding exports and entering new international markets are priorities as growth opportunities in its domestic market become more limited.

The group has specifically identified markets with potential for large-scale agricultural and feed-sector development as investment targets.

The completion of the EL.VI.Z transaction therefore adds another established feed manufacturing platform to UBM’s international network, while its investments in Greece and Kazakhstan give the group a broader presence across European and Central Asian feed markets.

UBM said it has also disclosed the completion of the Greek transaction through its official regulatory channels, in line with applicable capital market requirements.
