This will strengthen feed safety and quality assurance.

CANADA – Onda has achieved FeedAssure® certification for its FeedTech Division, strengthening its quality management and feed safety systems while enhancing its ability to manufacture research and commercial aquafeeds for the global animal nutrition industry.
The certification follows a year-long process and recognises the division’s compliance with industry standards covering ingredient sourcing, manufacturing controls, traceability, sanitation, documentation and continuous improvement.
FeedAssure® is a recognised certification program that demonstrates adherence to rigorous feed safety and quality management requirements, providing assurance to feed manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and customers.
“Innovation in animal nutrition is essential to strengthening the global food supply chain,” said Myrna Gillis, Chief Executive Officer of Onda.
“FeedAssure® certification expands our ability to support feed companies and ingredient suppliers as a small-batch-to-scale contract manufacturer.
We can manufacture custom research and commercial diets, evaluate innovative ingredients under real-world conditions, and help clients move promising products toward commercial markets around the world.”
The certification process involved collaboration between FeedTech operations, quality assurance, technical staff and management teams through process reviews, employee training, internal audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance with FeedAssure® requirements.
According to Onda, the certification will provide customers with greater confidence in feed trial integrity, improved traceability and documentation, reduced operational risk, and stronger assurance during commercial-scale ingredient evaluations and product development programs.
Certification strengthens support for aquafeed innovation
Onda’s FeedTech Division operates as a contract research organisation serving the global aquaculture sector by producing commercial aquafeeds and custom experimental diets while conducting nutrition and feed evaluation studies for feed manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, pharmaceutical companies and aquaculture producers.
The company said FeedAssure certification reinforces its ability to generate research data under a recognised quality framework, helping accelerate the development and commercialisation of innovative aquafeed products.
“The foundational requirements were already in place from our GLP and GMP programs.
These shared processes coupled with the specific manufacturing, Feed Fraud, Feed Defense and HACCP programs made FeedAssure® a perfect fit for Onda,” said Catherine Albert, Quality Director at Onda.
Onda said the certification reflects its continued commitment to quality and operational excellence, while positioning the FeedTech Division to better support customers developing next-generation feed ingredients and nutritional solutions for the aquaculture industry.
