PEDIGREE upgrades adult dog food with Vitamin GoodBites to boost nutrition

The launch comes as Mars Incorporated marks 115 years.

USA – Mars Pet Nutrition has unveiled the biggest reformulation of its PEDIGREE® Adult Dry Dog Food range in more than a decade, introducing new Vitamin GoodBites™ pieces designed to provide an additional nutrient boost while supporting six essential areas of canine health.

The updated recipes, developed by Mars animal nutritionists, feature unique plus-sign-shaped Vitamin GoodBites™ kibble pieces containing Vitamin C, biotin and elevated levels of essential vitamins.

The new formulation delivers the brand’s 6-in-1 Goodness Promise, supporting digestion, immunity, skin and coat health, heart function, strong bones and dental care.

The reformulated recipes provide 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult dogs and will be available in new packaging marked with a “+” symbol to highlight the upgraded formula.

“We believe every dog deserves quality nutrition, and our team of animal nutritionists worked diligently to ensure this product upgrade helped continue to bring out the good in every dog,” said Colten Kidwell, Vice President for the PEDIGREE brand at Mars Pet Nutrition North America.

“This complete and balanced recipe actively supports a dog’s everyday health, delivering quality nutrition that dog parents can feel great about serving and with the great taste dogs love.”

According to Mars, the updated formula includes prebiotic fibre to support digestion, calcium for bone strength, omega-6 fatty acids and zinc for healthy skin and coat, vitamins and minerals to strengthen immunity, crunchy kibble for dental care, and high-quality protein to support muscle and heart health.

Dr. Anne Marie Bakke, veterinarian and pet nutrition scientist at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute, said the reformulation builds on decades of nutritional research.

“Complete and balanced kibble based on our world-class science delivered for more than 60 years serves as a solid nutritional foundation for a pet’s diet,” Bakke said.

“By enriching this classic PEDIGREE recipe, the brand is continuing to ensure an adult dog’s core needs are considered in every bowl to support health.”

The product launch is supported by PEDIGREE’s new “Good Then, Better Now” campaign, celebrating the brand’s more than 40-year history while highlighting the enhanced recipe.

Mars celebrates 115 years of growth and innovation

The launch comes as Mars Incorporated marks 115 years since founder Frank C. Mars began making buttercream candies from his home kitchen in Tacoma, Washington, in 1911.

Today, the family-owned company employs approximately 170,000 people, operates more than 3,600 sites worldwide, and manages a portfolio of over 130 brands, including PEDIGREE, Royal Canin, M&M’S, Ben’s Original and Extra.

“Our 115-year history reflects the enduring power of our values and the long-term perspective that comes with being family-owned,” said Poul Weihrauch, Chief Executive Officer of Mars Incorporated.

Over the past century, Mars has expanded far beyond confectionery into pet nutrition, veterinary care, diagnostics and food.

The company’s recent acquisition of Kellanova further broadened its global food portfolio as it continues investing in innovation, sustainability and long-term growth across its businesses.
