REVELEX enables operators to maximise methane yield, reinforce process stability, and optimise energy extraction from existing resources.

IRELAND – Alltech has launched REVELEX, a new integrated anaerobic digestion solutions platform designed to help operators increase methane production, improve process stability and maximise energy recovery from organic feedstocks.
The launch expands the company’s sustainability-focused portfolio by combining biological technologies, diagnostics, and advisory services to optimise biogas production and improve the efficiency of agricultural waste utilisation.
The platform is designed for anaerobic digestion systems that process a wide range of feedstocks, including fibre-rich crops, food waste, livestock manure, and nutrient-limited substrates.
By adopting a feedstock-led approach, REVELEX aims to help operators extract more energy from existing resources while improving digester performance.
According to Alltech, the solution integrates biological science with advanced diagnostics and on-farm advisory support to deliver measurable operational improvements rather than relying solely on feed additives or process inputs.
“Many anaerobic digestion systems operate below their potential due to variability in feedstocks and difficulty maintaining optimal biological conditions,” said Dr. Patrick Ward, Europe and Asia-Pacific Applications Manager at Alltech.
“That is why we are excited to introduce REVELEX, moving beyond products to a performance and reliability partnership that combines biological science, diagnostics and advisory services while focusing on real-world outcomes, not just inputs.”
The REVELEX portfolio has been structured into three product groups based on substrate characteristics.
REVELEX PF targets fibre-rich feedstocks, REVELEX PL is designed for slurry and manure-based digesters, while REVELEX PM focuses on mineral optimisation where nutrient imbalances limit digester performance.
The company said this modular approach allows operators to tailor solutions to their specific feedstock mix, improving methane yields, increasing process resilience and making better use of available biomass.
Field validation conducted at the Alltech EU Applications Laboratory yielded encouraging results prior to the technology’s commercial deployment.
At Ballydown Milk Farm in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, where anaerobic digesters process slurry, silage and other organic materials, REVELEX increased biogas production by approximately 12% to 15% while reducing digester inputs by about half.
“Working with Alltech has increased our biogas output by around 12–15%, cut our digester inputs roughly in half, and delivered a strong return on investment,” said James Martin, owner of Ballydown Milk.
Supporting sustainable agriculture through renewable energy
The launch aligns with Alltech’s broader sustainability strategy, which increasingly emphasises renewable energy, resource efficiency and circular agriculture.
In its recently released 2025 Sustainability Report, the company highlighted significant investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve operational sustainability.
During 2025 alone, Alltech invested US$2.72 million in renewable energy projects, completing 13 initiatives that reduce annual carbon emissions by more than 3,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.
Since establishing its emissions reduction targets, the company has completed 47 renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects, cutting annual emissions by nearly 15,837 metric tonnes of CO₂e.
The report also noted that seven Alltech facilities have now achieved zero-waste-to-landfill status, while water recycling and reuse increased by more than 55% through operational improvements.
By helping convert livestock manure, crop residues and food waste into renewable energy more efficiently, REVELEX supports the transition toward more sustainable livestock production systems while creating additional revenue opportunities for farmers and anaerobic digestion operators.
As demand for renewable energy and circular agricultural solutions continues to grow, technologies that improve feedstock utilisation and biogas efficiency are expected to play an increasingly important role in reducing waste, lowering emissions and improving farm profitability.
