A defining feature of the Cosmocat Liquid Treats range is the use of black soldier fly-derived protein, marketed by the company as E-protein.

UAE – Cosmopet, an international pet company specialising in premium hypoallergenic pet nutrition, has expanded its Cosmocat Liquid Treats portfolio with new flavours and packaging formats, as demand rises for functional and alternative protein-based pet nutrition products in the region.
The company said the product line has consistently ranked as its top-selling SKU in the UAE, reflecting strong consumer and retail partner demand.
The latest expansion is designed to offer greater variety and flexibility while strengthening Cosmopet’s position in the premium pet food segment.
Two new variants have been introduced. Tuna & Shrimp is a multi-protein formulation combining tuna, shrimp, salmon and duck, enriched with vitamins A, D3 and E.
The product is positioned to support diet diversification, particularly for selective feeders and cats with higher nutritional requirements.
Cod Yoghurt, meanwhile, combines white fish cod with goat milk and added probiotics, targeting digestive health and sensitive stomachs, with potential applications in veterinary-recommended diets.
In addition to new formulations, Cosmopet has broadened its packaging range to support different retail and consumption occasions.
Formats now include 12g single-serve sachets for trial and impulse purchases, as well as larger pouches and multi-packs aimed at repeat buyers and distribution efficiency.
The company said this approach allows retail partners to better align product offerings with consumer purchasing behaviour across channels.
Insect protein drives product differentiation
A defining feature of the Cosmocat Liquid Treats range is the use of black soldier fly-derived protein, marketed by the company as E-protein.
This ingredient positions the product line within the growing category of alternative proteins in pet nutrition.
Insect-based proteins are gaining traction globally due to their functional and environmental advantages.
They are considered hypoallergenic, making them suitable for pets with food sensitivities, and offer a more resource-efficient production profile than traditional protein sources such as fishmeal and soybean meal.
For manufacturers, incorporating insect protein also supports efforts to diversify raw material sourcing and reduce exposure to price volatility and supply constraints affecting conventional feed ingredients.
Cosmopet’s expansion reflects a broader shift in the pet food industry toward premium, functional and sustainable products.
As consumer awareness increases, demand is rising for formulations that not only meet basic nutritional needs but also deliver targeted health benefits, including digestive support and improved palatability.
The company’s continued investment in product innovation and format diversification highlights the growing role of alternative proteins in shaping the future of pet nutrition, particularly in high-growth markets such as the Middle East.
