ADM launches new solution to boost tilapia productivity

The new product strengthens ADM’s growing aquaculture portfolio, which includes feeds, premixes, supplements, and nutritional technologies.

BRAZIL – ADM, a global player in agribusiness, has unveiled Nutripiscis Oxygen, a new nutritional solution designed to support tilapia productivity and resilience under challenging aquaculture conditions.

The innovation, which the company says delivers up to 16% more biomass gain, is targeted at producers facing environmental stressors such as fluctuating oxygen levels, temperature variations, and increased stocking densities.

The launch comes amid surging tilapia production in Brazil, a country central to ADM’s aquaculture strategy.

According to the Brazilian Fish Farming Association (Peixe BR), tilapia output has more than doubled over the last decade, rising from 285,000 tons to 579,000 tons. With demand climbing, efficiency and production stability have become critical for the industry.

Enhancing fish health and efficiency

Ricardo Garcia, Aquaculture Manager at ADM, emphasised the growing challenges facing fish farmers.

Aquaculture is facing increasingly frequent and severe environmental challenges. With this new solution, we offer nutritional support that helps producers maintain efficiency while ensuring the growth and well-being of the fish,” he said.

Nutripiscis Oxygen features an exclusive blend of additives developed to reduce oxidative and intestinal stress in tilapia.

ADM notes that the formulation helps improve fat digestion, supports energy metabolism, protects liver function, and maintains intestinal integrity.

Comparative tests showed diets supplemented with the solution delivered up to 16% more biomass gain than conventional diets.

Strategic investment in aquaculture innovation

The new product strengthens ADM’s growing aquaculture portfolio, which includes feeds, premixes, supplements, and nutritional technologies tailored to the needs of species like tilapia and shrimp.

The company has invested heavily in research and development, operating aquaculture research facilities across Latin America and beyond to develop tailored formulations.

ADM’s broader aquaculture offering includes the Nutripiscis line for tilapia and Bernaqua’s hatchery and nursery feeds for fish and shrimp. The company also leverages advanced technologies such as microencapsulation and probiotics to support gut health and immune function.

By addressing environmental stress and promoting stable production, Nutripiscis Oxygen reflects the company’s focus on performance, profitability, and sustainability.

ADM says the innovation underscores its commitment to helping aquaculture producers meet rising global demand for fish protein.
