In other news, dsm-firmenich announced a major reshaping of its Executive Committee to sharpen its consumer focus in nutrition, health, and beauty.

NETHERLANDS – dsm-firmenich, a global innovator in nutrition, health, and beauty, has achieved its target of sourcing 100% of purchased electricity from renewable sources several months ahead of its 2025 deadline, reinforcing its position as a sustainability leader.
The company confirmed the milestone this week, highlighting it as a key step toward its broader commitment to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across operations and its value chain by 2045.
The targets, validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), include maintaining renewable electricity sourcing at 100% through 2030.
“At dsm-firmenich, sustainability lives at the heart of what we do,” said CEO Dimitri de Vreeze. “Reaching 100% purchased renewable electricity ahead of schedule demonstrates the decisive actions that we are taking to make our ambitious, science-based targets a reality.”
Driving sustainability progress
To reach the milestone, dsm-firmenich followed a strategy aligned with RE100, the global initiative uniting major businesses committed to renewable energy.
Its approach combined long-term power purchase agreements with wind and solar farms in Europe and North America, renewable retail contracts in local markets, and expanded sourcing in China through long-term deals.
The company is also scaling renewable steam and heat, drawing from biomass cogeneration plants in Switzerland, France, China, and Brazil. These efforts complement initiatives to optimize waste streams and work with partners on low-carbon solutions.
“Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time,” said Katharina Stenholm, Chief Sustainability Officer.
“While this milestone is a testament to our collective effort and passion, we know that the journey continues. We will keep pushing forward to meet our long-term goals and sustain the progress we’ve made, with our net-zero ambition for 2045 guiding the way.”
Executive shifts to boost consumer growth
Alongside its climate progress, dsm-firmenich announced a major reshaping of its Executive Committee to sharpen its consumer focus in nutrition, health, and beauty.
Swiss executive Alessandre Keller will join the company in September 2025, taking over as President of Health, Nutrition & Care (HNC) on January 1, 2026, succeeding Philip Eykerman. Keller brings over 25 years of global leadership experience at Nestlé and Unilabs.
Eykerman will transition into the new role of Chief Strategy, M&A and Transformation Officer, continuing as a member of the Executive Committee.
Meanwhile, Maurizio Clementi will assume leadership of Taste, Texture & Health (TTH) following the retirement of long-serving executive Patrick Niels.
In another change, Ivo Lansbergen will step down from the Executive Committee in October 2025 to focus fully on leading the company’s Animal Nutrition & Health division, which is undergoing a carve-out.
CEO de Vreeze praised the leadership changes, noting that they reflect the company’s ambition and continuity.
“These appointments reflect the strength and purpose-led approach of our leadership team as we continue to transform and focus on high-growth, high-margin businesses,” he said.
