Bühler honored with triple recognition at China-Switzerland Business Awards 2025

Bühler has been supplying solutions to the Chinese market in 1983.

CHINA – Bühler Group, a global supplier of milling solutions, has received three distinctions at the 2025 China-Switzerland Business Awards in Beijing, held on August 27 to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland.

The company secured the Innovation Pioneer Award (Winner) for its Carat 920 megacasting die-casting solution, the Digital Transformation Award (Second Place) for its SmarT digital coffee roasting management solutions, and the exclusive Legacy Award recognizing Bühler’s 165-year heritage and decades of industrial excellence in China.

“We are deeply honored to receive multiple accolades at the 2025 China-Switzerland Business Awards,” said Connie He, President of Bühler Greater China Region.

“This recognition affirms our commitment to technological innovation, digital transformation, and Sino–Swiss collaboration and motivates our continued progress,” he added.

Founded in 2013 by the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the biennial awards spotlight leading contributions to bilateral business development.

This year’s event carried special significance, attended by senior Swiss officials, including H.E. Andrea Caroni, President of the Swiss Council of States, and H.E. Jürg Burri, Swiss Ambassador to China, North Korea, and Mongolia.

Driving digital transformation
Bühler’s SmarT digital coffee roasting management solution won second place in the Large Companies category of the Digital Transformation Award.

By integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, the system provides full transparency across quality inspection, roasting management, and energy monitoring, thereby enhancing efficiency, product quality, and sustainability.

Innovating in die casting
The company’s Carat 920 die-casting solution was named the winner of the Innovation Pioneer Award.

Designed for the automotive sector, it enables Original Equipment Manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to produce large, complex structural components in aluminum or magnesium cost-effectively.

With more than 50 megacasting solutions sold globally, Bühler is driving advances in lightweight automotive manufacturing across key regions, including China, Europe, the Americas, Japan, and Vietnam.

“This honor reflects our team’s dedication and the trust of our partners. We will continue to empower the industry through technology and contribute to global manufacturing advancement,” noted Mathias Manser, Quality Management Manager, Die Casting.

A legacy of excellence in China
Bühler, which entered the Chinese market in 1983, was further recognized with the Legacy Award, a distinction given to companies operating in China for over 20 years that embody Swiss brand values and long-term commitment.

The award highlights Bühler’s four decades of contribution to Sino-Swiss cooperation, industrial upgrading, and technological exchange.

Through these achievements, Bühler aims to strengthen partnerships with the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce and industry stakeholders, fostering modernization through smart equipment, green technologies, and talent development.

The awards also reflect the broader goal of advancing sustainable economic ties between China and Switzerland as both nations mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.

The accolades come after the Swiss-based technology company serving the global food, feed, and mobility industries was recently awarded the Brandon Hall Group Bronze Medal Excellence Award in Learning and Development, under the category Best Team Development Program.

Received in collaboration with the IMD International Institute for Management Development, the award celebrates the transformative success of Bühler’s High Performance Teams (HPT) program, a cornerstone of its strategic transformation journey to foster a values-driven, high-performing leadership culture.

The Brandon Hall Group’s Human Capital Management (HCM) Excellence Awards, now in its 32nd year, recognize global organizations for innovative and impactful approaches to Learning and Development, Leadership Development, and other human capital initiatives.
