dsm-firmenich ANH opens first feed additive plant in India

As mycotoxin challenges intensify due to shifting climate conditions, ANH’s investment positions the company to better support feed manufacturers with advanced risk management solutions.

INDIA – dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) has inaugurated its first feed additive plant in India, a state-of-the-art facility in Jadcherla, Hyderabad, dedicated to producing Mycofix® solutions.

The launch marks a strategic milestone for the Swiss-headquartered company, advancing its commitment to local manufacturing, sustainability, and regional food security.

The 11,200-square-meter site features a modern manufacturing line for mycotoxin risk management products and a new warehouse, integrating advanced Bühler technology and adhering to the highest international standards in quality, safety, and environmental protection.

Built adjacent to ANH’s existing Jadcherla premix plant, operational since 2018, the two facilities form a combined “Super Site” designed to improve efficiency and service delivery for customers across India and the Asia-Pacific region.

Supporting farmers and food safety

The Hyderabad plant will produce Mycofix® Secure and Mycofix® Shield, solutions that help farmers and feed producers counter the growing threat of mycotoxins in animal feed. These toxins, often exacerbated by climate change and poor harvesting practices, pose serious risks to animal health and food safety.

By manufacturing Mycofix® locally, ANH aims to provide faster access to high-quality, science-driven feed additives.

This new plant is a strategic milestone for ANH in Greater APAC, our first feed additive plant in India, and a powerful step forward in serving our customers with speed, efficiency, and innovation,” said Lu Yuan, Vice President, Greater APAC, Animal Nutrition & Health, dsm-firmenich.

By producing Mycofix® locally in India, we enhance our ability to serve customers across the Asia-Pacific region, supporting our growth strategy and meeting growing demand. This is our vision in action: customer at the heart, sustainability in our DNA, and leading through innovation for the future of animal farming.”

A boost for “Make in India”

The facility is aligned with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative, which seeks to drive local manufacturing, reduce imports, and strengthen industrial capabilities. Puneet Pokhriyal, Director OU West, Animal Nutrition & Health dsm-firmenich, emphasised the importance of the investment for both the company and the country.

This new plant brings us closer to our customers and strategic partners in India. We are very proud to serve our customers with feed additives made in India that meet the highest international standards in quality and safety,” he said.

The Jadcherla site also highlights dsm-firmenich’s global ambition to expand its production capacity in India, following a series of recent investments.

These include the expansion of its seasoning plant in Kerala and the construction of a new greenfield taste facility in Gujarat, underscoring the company’s long-term vision to strengthen local supply chains and foster regional innovation.

With demand for safe, sustainable, and efficient animal nutrition solutions growing across Asia-Pacific, the new Indian facility is expected to play a central role in dsm-firmenich’s regional growth strategy.

By combining local manufacturing with global expertise, the company aims to accelerate innovation, shorten lead times, and enhance resilience in agricultural supply chains.
