CHINA – The China Feed Industry Exhibition 2025 recently concluded at the Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing more than 100,000 participants from across the globe in a record-breaking turnout for the event.

Held from April 18 to 20 and hosted by the China Feed Industry Association, the exhibition has reinforced its standing as the most influential event in China’s feed sector.

At the heart of this year’s exhibition was the theme, “Innovation Drives Development and Green Leads the Future,” highlighting the need to keep innovating sustainably.

Wang Zongli, President of the China Feed Industry Association, presided over the opening ceremony and launched the “Initiative to Actively Practice Food Saving Action,” a nationwide call to feed enterprises to adopt practices that reduce grain use, increase feed efficiency, and ensure national food security.

Speaking at the event, Chen Ping, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, emphasised the province’s commitment to leveraging the exhibition to foster innovation and promote high-quality development in the feed industry.

Shandong will use the exhibition platform to earnestly learn from and draw on advanced models and experiences at home and abroad,” he said.

We will vigorously develop new quality productivity in the feed industry, strive to promote the implementation of more cutting-edge technologies, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the feed industry.”

The three-day exhibition covered more than 100,000 square meters, the largest in its history, and featured participation from agricultural departments across provinces, including Hunan and Guangxi, which hosted special promotion meetings to showcase regional feed industry achievements.

Delegations from Shanghai, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, and other provinces also participated, highlighting the breadth and diversity of China’s feed sector.

A major highlight was the centralized release of 19 new technologies and products selected by the China Feed Industry Association, offering a powerful platform for the alignment of scientific breakthroughs with industry needs.

Complementing this was the “China Feed Industry Development Achievements Exhibition,” organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, which chronicled the evolution of China’s feed sector since the reform era.

High-level learning forums elevate event

In line with this, the event featured expanded digital technology integration and a wide array of supporting activities, including multiple high-level forums such as the “Sunbird Forum” and the “Yihe Forum.”

These gatherings brought together leading experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs to tackle pressing issues, exchange insights, and discuss the future of feed production in a rapidly transforming world.

The feed-saving initiative launched at the opening ceremony outlined three key objectives: enhancing political awareness about food security, improving feed conversion and resource efficiency, and encouraging enterprises to set examples in grain-saving best practices.

The initiative urged the entire industry to “promote quality improvement, cost reduction and efficiency increase,” and “create a good atmosphere for saving grain and reducing consumption in the entire industry.

Prominent guests who joined in officially opening the exhibition by pressing the ceremonial start ball included Yu Kangzhen and Ma Youxiang, both former Vice Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, along with Vice Governor Chen Ping.

The opening was also attended by a large delegation of domestic and international dignitaries, including representatives from the Japanese Pet Food Association and various foreign embassies.

Established in 1996, the China Feed Industry Exhibition has evolved over 29 years into a cornerstone event for the domestic feed industry.

The 2025 edition surpassed all previous editions in scale, participation, and strategic importance, underscoring China’s growing commitment to sustainable agricultural development.
