Cairo 3A expands Soy Pro exports into African markets for the first time

EGYPT – Cairo 3A Group, a leading Egyptian conglomerate in agricultural production, food manufacturing, and animal nutrition, has started exporting its Soy Pro high-fat soybean product to African markets for the first time, expanding the company’s regional animal nutrition business as feed producers increasingly seek ingredients that combine both protein and energy.

The company said the move marks a new export milestone for its animal nutrition division and supports its broader strategy to strengthen its presence across African and Gulf feed markets.

Soy Pro is a high-fat soybean meal developed for feed applications, providing a single source of protein and energy.

According to Cairo 3A, the product contains a minimum of 42% protein and delivers approximately 3,265 kcal of energy, positioning it as a higher-energy alternative to conventional soybean meal for livestock and dairy feed formulations.

The product is manufactured using dry extrusion processing technology, which the company says improves amino acid and protein availability while supporting feed efficiency and digestibility.

Cairo 3A added that Soy Pro contains more than 58% bypass protein, making it suitable for high-producing dairy cattle.

The African expansion follows Cairo 3A’s earlier export breakthrough into Gulf markets, where Soy Pro became the first Egyptian high-energy soybean product to receive official registration in Saudi Arabia.

The company said the latest exports reflect growing regional demand for more efficient feed ingredients as livestock producers face rising feed costs and pressure to improve productivity.

Feed manufacturers globally have increasingly focused on high-energy and speciality soybean products as livestock sectors seek better feed conversion and more efficient nutrient utilisation.

Industry analysts say demand for alternative soy processing technologies has grown in recent years due to volatile commodity prices, rising import costs and increasing pressure on livestock margins.

Cairo 3A said its animal nutrition division continues to focus on innovation, operational efficiency and export growth as part of efforts to strengthen the company’s international presence.

The group currently exports products to more than 60 countries across North Africa and the Gulf region and has indicated plans for further market expansion.

Founded in 1981, Cairo 3A operates across the poultry, grain trading, agricultural commodities, and feed-related industries through subsidiaries, including the National Company for Maize Products, Egyptian Starch and Glucose Company, and Al Ahram Poultry.
