EW Group moves to acquire natural feed solutions company Olmix

This move would expand its portfolio of natural feed additives and biosourced agricultural solutions.

FRANCE – EW Group, a global family holding company in the life sciences sector, has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire Olmix Group, a leader in natural-based animal care and plant care solutions, from investment firms Amadéite and Motion Equity Partners.

The proposed acquisition would strengthen EW Group’s presence in livestock nutrition and crop farming by integrating Olmix’s expertise in algae-based and natural-origin products for animal health, feed efficiency and plant performance.

Headquartered in Bréhan, Olmix develops and distributes biosourced solutions for the global livestock and crop farming markets.

The company supplies feed additives, animal care products and agricultural inputs designed to support productivity and sustainability in farming systems.

“We are delighted that Olmix Group has entered into exclusive negotiations with EW Group, which shares the same values,” said Hervé Balusson.

“This project would ensure a positive long-term future for the Olmix team and lay the foundation for an excellent outlook for future business development,” he added.

Patrick Eisenchteter said the partnership had helped expand Olmix internationally and expressed confidence in the company’s future under EW Group.

“It has been a pleasure working closely with Olmix Management to grow the company internationally. It has been a successful partnership, and we are very happy to see that EW Group will continue to support that journey,” he said.

EW Group is a global family-owned holding company operating more than 300 subsidiaries across the life sciences sector, including animal genetics, animal nutrition, diagnostics and biotechnology.

The company said Olmix would continue operating as a standalone business within the group alongside EW Nutrition.

“We are extremely excited about the prospect of welcoming Olmix employees to EW Group,” said Jan Wesjohann.

“Over the years, the company has developed unique and innovative solutions and has become a leader.

We intend to accelerate and support the positive growth path of Olmix as a standalone company in the group next to EW Nutrition,” he added.

The companies said the planned partnership would support further investment in research and development, new technologies and international expansion.

The deal reflects growing consolidation in the global animal nutrition sector, where companies are increasingly investing in natural feed additives, biosolutions and alternatives to conventional antimicrobial and chemical inputs as producers face tighter sustainability and animal health requirements.
