Ottevanger expands global footprint with smart feed mill project in Ecuador

ECUADOR – Ottevanger Milling Engineers is reinforcing its global reputation for precision and innovation with the construction of a new poultry feed mill in Quevedo, Ecuador, for leading agribusiness company Pronaca.

The project, which is being built adjacent to Pronaca’s existing facility, is designed to expand capacity without halting production, a logistical feat that reflects Ottevanger’s engineering expertise.

Raw materials continue to flow from the current silos, keeping Pronaca’s feed production online even as the new plant rises next door.

The facility includes a complete line for mixing, grinding, pelleting, bagging, and loading, with a current capacity of 20 tonnes per hour (tph), scalable to 30 tph.

At the heart of the pelleting line are two PTN Progress 850 pellet presses, supported by a modern bagging system and dual loading lanes designed to accelerate dispatch.

Targeted at broiler and layer feed production, the new mill will help Pronaca, Ecuador’s largest poultry and pork producer, meet growing domestic and regional feed demand.

The seamless integration of expansion and operation underscores Ottevanger’s capability in delivering efficient, turnkey feed solutions that minimize downtime and optimize throughput.

Engineering excellence since 1909

Founded in 1909 and still privately owned by the fourth generation of the Ottevanger family, the Dutch company has evolved into a world leader in designing and manufacturing feed and grain-processing systems.

Its portfolio spans feed mills, premix and concentrate plants, aqua feed and pet food installations, cereal processing lines, and biomass projects.

Beyond machinery such as hammer mills, mixers, extruders, and conveyors, Ottevanger also specializes in modular, containerized feed mills that are pre-assembled to reduce installation time on site.

Its dedicated Ottevanger Services division ensures long-term system performance through preventive maintenance, spare parts supply, and overhauls.

Through continuous innovation and close collaboration with clients, Ottevanger has earned a reputation for craftsmanship and reliability — qualities that continue to drive its success across continents.

New state-of-the-art feedmill opens in Estonia

Ottevanger’s expansion momentum follows the recent opening of Pro Grupp’s new 30 tph feedmill in Estonia,  a project defined by close cooperation, robust design and long-term planning.

The facility, built to deliver reliability and high performance for years to come, is the result of coordinated work among several specialized partners.

Ottevanger Milling Engineers led engineering, project management, plant construction and core process technology.

Pelleting Technology Netherlands (PTN) supplied the pellet press, the roller mill and the new Protector Roll innovation, while IVS Dosing Technology delivered the liquid dosing systems.

TSC Silos provided all square storage silos, and Inteqnion B.V. handled complete plant automation.

Described by the companies involved as more than just a structure of steel and machinery, the new mill represents shared commitment, trust and the pursuit of quality.

Pro Grupp has also produced a video walkthrough of the facility, offering stakeholders a look inside the completed installation.
