Wayne-Sanderson Farms unveils US$43M high-tech feed mill in Arkansas

USA – Wayne-Sanderson Farms has officially opened a new state-of-the-art feed mill at its Danville Complex in Arkansas, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing investment in efficient, sustainable poultry production.

The US$43 million facility was inaugurated on July 9, 2025, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company executives, employees, and state and local dignitaries.

Located in the heart of the River Valley, the high-tech mill is equipped to produce over 8,500 tons of poultry feed per week and will serve 130 family farm partners across the region.

The plant is designed to manufacture nine feed formulations, ranging from baby chick feed to broiler, pullet, and hen diets, tailored to meet specific nutritional needs across different stages of bird development.

The opening of our new Danville feed mill represents a major investment in the long-term success of our company and the local farming community,” said Kevin McDaniel, President and CEO of Wayne-Sanderson Farms.

This facility enhances our operational efficiency, supports the family farms at the heart of our supply chain, and reinforces our commitment to sustainable poultry production in Arkansas.

Outfitted with cutting-edge automation technology, the mill features two dedicated receiving systems capable of unloading up to 26,500 bushels of corn or soybeans per hour.

The facility is designed for truck-only delivery, streamlining ingredient sourcing and reducing logistical complexity. It also includes expanded ingredient storage, ample warehouse space, and improved inventory management capabilities.

Notably, the mill will source much of its corn and other grains from local farmers, reinforcing its role as an economic engine for the surrounding agricultural community.

Strengthening local partnerships

Wayne-Sanderson Farms emphasised the project’s broader impact on the region. “We are proud to expand our footprint in Arkansas and excited about the lasting benefits this new feed mill will bring to our employees, farm partners, and the greater River Valley area,” said Toby Tapp, Danville Complex Manager.

This achievement would not have been possible without the ongoing support of the City of Danville, Yell County, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and the Arkansas Poultry Federation.

The facility currently employs four salaried and fifteen hourly personnel, and the grand opening event offered guests an inside look at the operations and the team behind the scenes.

The company highlighted the occasion as a symbol of its commitment to community partnerships and regional development.
