His new position consolidates the sustainability and communications functions at Skretting.

NORWAY – Skretting, the aquafeed producing arm of Nutreco, has appointed Jorge Díaz as its new Sustainability & Communications Director, a move that signals a strategic shift in how the company aligns its environmental goals with business priorities and customer needs.
The announcement was made this week and places Díaz in a key leadership role within the global Skretting Leadership Team.
Díaz, who first joined Skretting Chile in 2015 as Communications Manager, moved to Norway in 2018 and has most recently served as the company’s Sustainability Director.
His new position consolidates the sustainability and communications functions, underscoring Skretting’s focus on cohesive messaging and accelerated response to global sustainability challenges.
“This new role will allow us to respond to market developments faster, drive key initiatives that are aligned across our business, and communicate on our sustainability progress in one clear, strong voice. It also demonstrates our commitment to improving transparency about the environmental and social impacts of our operations,” said Bastiaan van Tilburg, CEO of Skretting.
Skretting’s decision to combine its sustainability and communications leadership reflects a deepening of its commitment to environmental and social responsibility, as well as the growing demand from customers and regulators for more integrated and transparent corporate strategies.
“In today’s fast-changing landscape, increased collaboration and long-term thinking are more important than ever to deliver on our sustainability ambitions,” said Díaz.
“I look forward to uniting the sustainability and communications functions across Skretting, and to strengthening our engagement with customers and other stakeholders to co-create change without compromising on our social and environmental responsibilities.”
Díaz’s new role is expected to streamline the company’s ability to engage proactively with stakeholders, align internal and external initiatives, and ensure that Skretting’s voice on sustainability is unified, timely, and impactful.
Leadership shift in Skretting Norway
In a separate leadership development, Skretting Norway has named Mads Martinsen as its new General Manager.
Martinsen replaces Håvard Walde, who steps into a broader international role within the company as the Managing Director for Skretting’s salmon operations in Norway, Australia, North America, and Chile.
Martinsen, who joined Skretting in 2011 shortly after graduating from the University of Tromsø, brings over a decade of experience in product development and sustainability.
Most recently, he served as Director of Product Development and Sustainability, contributing to Skretting’s innovation strategy and technical leadership.
“I’ve practically grown up on the edge of a fish pen, and I’m filled with both joy and a sense of awe at being given the opportunity to help drive the development of the feed side in Norwegian aquaculture,” said Martinsen.
“We have some fantastic opportunities to produce even more of the best and most sustainable food the world demands, so this is something I’m truly passionate about.”
