Wittaya Aqua, Maverick Innovation forge global partnership to accelerate feed ingredient innovation

This partnership is poised to empower businesses across the feed value chain with the technical, regulatory, and market intelligence needed to bring new nutritional technologies to market.

GLOBAL – Wittaya International Inc. and Maverick Innovation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly support the evaluation and commercialisation of feed ingredients and additives for aquaculture and poultry production.

The agreement brings together Canada-based Wittaya, a global leader in data-driven solutions for aquaculture and livestock, and Bangladesh-based Maverick, an agri-innovation specialist deeply embedded in warm-water aquaculture and poultry markets.

Their partnership is poised to empower businesses across the feed value chain, from emerging startups to seasoned suppliers, with the technical, regulatory, and market intelligence needed to bring new nutritional technologies to market.

With aquafeed production exceeding 50 million metric tonnes in 2022 and poultry feed surpassing 570 million metric tonnes in 2023, the industry is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a trusted partner to feed producers, ingredient suppliers, and farm operators, we understand how challenging it can be to bring novel additives to market,” said Evan Hall, CEO of Wittaya.

He added that the collaboration with Maverick Innovation will give companies the tools and insights they need to successfully navigate trial design, performance evaluations, and regulatory considerations, while ensuring that their products fit seamlessly into aquaculture and poultry production systems.

This collaboration arrives at a critical moment. As feed consumption rises globally, so does demand for effective, sustainable additives and advanced formulations. Yet, companies often face barriers in validation, market access, and product positioning.

Wittaya and Maverick aim to overcome these hurdles by combining cutting-edge data analytics and on-the-ground expertise to support every stage of the product lifecycle, from concept to commercialisation.

Maverick Innovation, based in Bangladesh, a regional powerhouse in shrimp, tilapia, and poultry production, will contribute localised knowledge, field testing capabilities, and access to key markets.

Wittaya, with operations in Toronto and Singapore, brings its scientific and technical firepower to trial support, precision nutrition, and performance modelling.

This partnership is all about helping companies fast-track their innovations, so farmers and producers can benefit from proven solutions that improve feed conversion, enhance animal health, and optimise profitability,” said Kabir Chowdhury of Maverick Innovation.

By working closely with Wittaya, we can conduct rigorous testing, collate performance metrics, and build compelling commercial cases for new products, strengthening our clients’ market entry and long-term success.

Dr. Dominique Bureau, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Wittaya, emphasised the broader vision: “Beyond technical validation and market analysis, we both are committed to fostering an ecosystem where knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives flourish.”

The MOU also outlines plans for joint workshops, training programs, and industry forums to connect developers, feed manufacturers, and producers with thought leaders in nutrition and farm management.
