SADC Ministers call for coordinated action on fertiliser harm minimisation, animal disease control and crop development to build regional food system resilience.
Ahead of the ministerial meeting, senior SADC officials will meet from May 26–27 to review past decisions and draft recommendations on livestock, fisheries, and agricultural priorities.
The minister stressed that the impact of FMD extends beyond animal health, affecting livestock productivity, market access and feed demand across the value chain.
The appointments come as the institute intensifies efforts to supply Foot-and-Mouth Disease vaccines to affected SADC regions.
