Multi-mycotoxin contamination continues to pose a major challenge for global feed production, according to the 2025 Global Mycotoxin Report

The facility will produce complete grind-mix bulk feed, primarily for swine and poultry farms, using local corn, soybean meal, and other ingredients.

The initiative is addressing feed shortages and high production costs, including research into alternative feed sources such as black soldier fly larvae, and is supporting sustainable growth.

The national feed and fodder ecosystem addresses longstanding gaps in Uganda’s livestock sector.

The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 1.43 million individuals nationwide, with at least 30% of participants being women.

Export approvals also covered fish feed and feed additives, alongside processed and frozen poultry products including quail, duck, pigeon, and turkey.

The project will generate significant employment opportunities, reduce farmer-herder conflicts, and increase access to nutrient-rich feed.

With ADB backing, De Heus TMH now trains 2,000 farmers and processes 18,000 tonnes of raw materials monthly to boost Cambodia’s livestock feed supply.

Together, these developments reflect a continued focus on meeting growing global demand for advanced micronutrition solutions.

The mission focused on addressing feed safety, mycotoxin control and intestinal health challenges in livestock production.
