This latest expansion builds on the company’s recent investment in fresh therapeutic nutrition.

U.S.A. – Royal Canin has expanded access to its veterinary therapeutic pet nutrition range by making the products available through Amazon, giving pet owners a more convenient way to purchase veterinarian-recommended diets for cats and dogs.
The Mars-owned pet nutrition company said the move will allow customers to order eligible products through Amazon with Prime delivery, subscription options and veterinary approval verification, helping improve continuity of care for pets with specific health conditions.
The expansion follows Royal Canin’s recent launch of its first Fresh Veterinary Diets portfolio in the United States, introducing fully cooked, veterinary-exclusive fresh diets by prescription.
Together, the two initiatives broaden access to therapeutic nutrition while strengthening the company’s veterinary offering across both fresh and dry or wet therapeutic diets.
The expansion covers Royal Canin’s veterinary therapeutic portfolio, including diets formulated to support dermatological conditions, urinary health, gastrointestinal disorders, weight management and diabetes care.
“Royal Canin is committed to partnering with veterinarians to support pets throughout all stages of their lives,” said Dr. Todd East, Director of Veterinary Affairs, Royal Canin North America.
“By expanding Royal Canin therapeutic products in Amazon’s stores, we’re making it easier for pet owners to learn about the diets their veterinarian recommended and maintain continuity of care by accessing those nutritional solutions with the convenience they expect from modern shopping.”
Therapeutic pet nutrition has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the global pet food market as increasing pet ownership, higher veterinary spending and growing awareness of preventive healthcare drive demand for condition-specific diets.
For manufacturers, expanding veterinary diets through e-commerce platforms also improves accessibility while maintaining veterinary oversight through prescription verification systems.
Subscription services further support long-term adherence to nutritional treatment plans for chronic conditions.
Royal Canin’s therapeutic portfolio includes dermatology diets formulated to support skin health.
Urinary SO diets for urinary tract conditions and gastrointestinal formulas designed for digestive sensitivities, weight management products for overweight pets and diabetes diets formulated to help maintain healthy blood glucose levels while preserving lean muscle mass.
The latest expansion strengthens Royal Canin’s omnichannel strategy by combining veterinary recommendations with digital retail convenience, making specialised nutrition more accessible to pet owners managing long-term health conditions in their animals.
