BioMar Greece achieves ASC Feed Certification, completing global pipeline

GREECE – BioMar Greece has achieved ASC Feed Certification, completing the certification pipeline across BioMar’s global production network where the programme is currently available.

The certification strengthens BioMar’s ability to supply ASC-conforming feed to aquaculture producers, including seabass and seabream farmers across the Mediterranean region.

“This is an important milestone for BioMar and the result of a significant effort from different teams across our organisation,” said Marco Espinoza, Head of Global Quality at BioMar Group.

The certification in Greece follows a broader rollout across BioMar’s production facilities in Europe, Latin and Central America, Australia and Asia. 

BioMar’s facilities in China are excluded after the Aquaculture Stewardship Council decided to phase out its certification programme in the country.

ASC certification strengthens responsible feed sourcing

The ASC Feed Standard covers environmental responsibility, social and labour rights, health and safety, and responsible raw material sourcing. 

Certification requires feed producers to demonstrate responsible practices across their operations and supply chains, including greater transparency and traceability of feed ingredients.

For BioMar Greece, the certification expands its ability to supply ASC-conforming aquafeed to producers across the Mediterranean while responding to growing demand for responsible sourcing and transparency in aquaculture feed.

Completing the certification pipeline gives BioMar a broader certified production network to support aquaculture customers seeking responsibly sourced, traceable feed.
