Ingegjerd Eidsvik steps down as Artec Aqua CEO 

NORWAY – Artec Aqua, a leading Norwegian supplier of turnkey solutions for land-based aquaculture, recently announced a significant leadership change. 

The company, renowned for its expertise in hybrid flow-through systems for salmon farming, will now be led by Frederik Langehaug. Former CEO Ingegjerd Eidsvik decided to step down after more than six years in the role.

Ingegjerd Eidsvik’s departure marks the end of a pivotal chapter for Artec Aqua. Eidsvik, who joined the company in 2018 after a successful 15-year tenure at Norwegian children’s furniture manufacturer Stokke, played an instrumental role in solidifying Artec Aqua’s position as a major player in the aquaculture industry. 

Under her leadership, the company expanded its client base and secured several prominent projects.

Frederik Langehaug, who has served as Artec Aqua’s Chief Financial Officer since September 2023, will assume the CEO role. 

Artec Aqua, a subsidiary of Nordic industrial group Endúr ASA, expressed gratitude for Eidsvik’s leadership and optimism for the company’s future under Langehaug’s direction. 

“We are proud to be able to recruit internally. Fredrik Langehaug will now take over as the new leader, and we look forward to continuing the good development under his leadership,” the company shared in a statement.

Langehaug, a seasoned leader with experience in senior management roles at PwC Norway, brings a strong financial and strategic background to his new role. 

His time as CFO of Artec Aqua was brief but impactful. The company experienced significant growth and secured high-profile contracts in the land-based aquaculture industry.

Prominent projects and industry impact

Artec Aqua has been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge land-based aquaculture projects, mainly through its work on hybrid flow-through systems. 

The company’s involvement in the construction and commissioning of Salmon Evolution’s Phase 1 facility and the upcoming Phase 2 expansion has cemented its status as a key player in this growing sector. 

The Phase 2 expansion, scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026, is expected to further bolster Salmon Evolution’s production capabilities.

In addition to its work with Salmon Evolution, Artec Aqua is also the main supplier for GeoSalmo, another hybrid flow-through project.

This project, currently under construction in southern Iceland near Þorlákshöfn, is set to contribute significantly to the region’s growing salmon farming industry.

Most recently, Artec Aqua secured a major contract with Sævareid Fiskeanlegg AS to develop a new smolt production facility in Sævareid, Norway. 

The new facility, designed to produce 29 million smolt annually, will significantly enhance Sævareid’s operational capacities and represents another milestone in Artec Aqua’s ongoing expansion.

As Artec Aqua enters this new phase under Frederik Langehaug’s leadership, the company is poised to continue its upward trajectory.
