The facility will produce specialised feed including feed for marine species such as sea bass, barramundi and other commercially important fish species.

The collaboration will introduce systematic blood biomarker analysis across the group’s production sites.

The facility, to be built in Athi River in Machakos County, will have the capacity to produce more than 20 metric tons of feed per hour.

The company said its journey began in Siavonga, where its first fish cages were built by hand using an online design.

Egypt produced 2 million metric tons of fish in 2024, with aquaculture accounting for 83% of total output, making it Africa’s leading fisheries producer.

As part of the partnership, INVE Aquaculture will support BioRestore® programs with feed solutions developed for the earliest stages of aquatic life.
