The partnership outlines a framework for scientific and technical cooperation encompassing fisheries, aquaculture, and food and nutritional security.
The project aims to support Kenya’s ambitious goal of tripling its national fish production from the current 147,000 metric tons to 450,000 metric tons by 2030.
Launched to mark WorldFish’s 50th anniversary, The Deep Dive convenes global experts to explore solutions to critical challenges in aquatic food systems.
As part of the agreement, Côte d’Ivoire has pledged US$3 million over the next five years and committed to providing land and infrastructure to host a regional aquatic innovation hub.
Under the partnership, WorldFish and Zambia will undertake joint research and capacity-building initiatives to create economic opportunities for local commmunities.
