Central Valley Ag expands Nebraska feed mill to boost pelleting and storage capacity

USA – Central Valley Ag (CVA), a farmer-owned cooperative, is investing in a major expansion and upgrade of its Nebraska feed mill to strengthen feed manufacturing capacity and support growing demand for livestock and poultry production across the U.S. Midwest.

The project, announced in May 2026, is expected to be completed by May 2027 and will include expanded pelleting capabilities, additional ingredient storage, improved loadout capacity and the addition of natural gas service.

According to CVA, the upgrades are designed to improve operational efficiency, increase throughput and enhance the cooperative’s ability to meet changing feed demand from protein producers.

Doug Rowse said the investment reflects the company’s long-term strategy to grow alongside livestock and poultry producers.

“As production continues to evolve, we’re focused on making strategic improvements that enhance efficiency, expand capacity and position CVA to capture future opportunities,” Rowse said.

Feed manufacturing and pelleting capacity expansion

CVA said the Daykin facility expansion will strengthen its feed manufacturing and pelleting operations while improving overall productivity across its feed network.

The cooperative supplies feed solutions to livestock and poultry producers across Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska through its agronomy, grain, feed and energy operations.

Industry demand for pelleted feed continues to rise in several livestock sectors due to improvements in feed handling, consistency and animal performance.

Additional ingredient storage capacity is also expected to improve supply chain flexibility and raw material management at the facility.

CVA noted that the project forms part of broader infrastructure investments aimed at supporting sustainable growth and adapting to changing market conditions in the protein production industry.

Based in York, Nebraska, CVA ranks among North America’s largest grain handling companies and continues expanding feed operations as livestock producers seek greater efficiency and feed supply reliability.
