Export approvals also covered fish feed and feed additives, alongside processed and frozen poultry products including quail, duck, pigeon, and turkey.

EGYPT – Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has approved 294 feed mixtures and issued 468 operating licences covering livestock, poultry and feed manufacturing activities, signalling continued expansion of the country’s feed sector.
The licences include new and renewed permits for livestock, poultry and feed production facilities, processed through the ministry’s Animal and Poultry Wealth Development Sector, according to an official report submitted to Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk.
The report, prepared by sector head Tarek Suleiman, outlined the department’s administrative and technical activities during the reporting period.
Suleiman said the licensing decisions follow policy directions from Minister Farouk and Deputy Minister Mostafa El Sayyad, aimed at accelerating approvals for livestock and feed investments while maintaining strict safety and disease-control standards.
The feed segment accounted for a significant share of the regulatory activity. Authorities approved the registration of 294 feed mixtures, including 190 produced domestically and 104 imported.
The approvals were completed in coordination with the Regional Center for Feed and Food and the Animal Production Research Institute, which evaluated ingredient composition and technical compliance.
Officials say the feed registration process is intended to ensure consistent feed quality, improve livestock productivity and strengthen Egypt’s ability to supply export-grade animal products.
Meanwhile, 22 livestock and poultry production facilities located in desert hinterland areas received technical clearance after meeting the ministry’s preventive health and biosecurity standards.
Financing supports livestock expansion
Alongside licensing activity, the government also allocated about US$6.35 million (EGP 297.36 million) to 425 beneficiaries through the National Calf Project.
The funding supports farmers raising and fattening cattle, with the latest disbursement linked to 4,251 head of livestock, a development expected to increase demand for commercial feed and formulated rations.
Export approvals and digital services
Export approvals were also issued for fish feed, feed additives and processed poultry products, reflecting growing participation by Egypt’s feed and animal protein sectors in international trade.
The frozen poultry exports included quail, duck, pigeon and turkey, destined for markets in Arab countries and other global destinations.
At the same time, the ministry expanded digital licensing services for livestock, poultry and feed projects, allowing companies to submit applications through the ministry’s website, the Egypt Digital Platform and mobile applications.
Officials say the shift to electronic licensing systems is expected to shorten approval timelines and improve access for feed manufacturers and livestock investors.
