Tanmiah expands poultry and feed operations in Saudi Arabia

The new Dahna Feed Mill has a capacity of 40 metric tons per hour and further reinforces Tanmiah’s vertically integrated operations.

SAUDI ARABIA – Tanmiah Food Company has officially inaugurated two major facilities in Saudi Arabia’s central region, a state-of-the-art poultry processing plant in Al Majmaa and a cutting-edge feed mill in Dahna, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and the Kingdom’s broader food security ambitions under Vision 2030.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) headquarters in Riyadh, attended by Minister Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, Tanmiah Chairman Amr Al-Dabbagh, Group CEO Zulfiqar Hamadani, and members of the company’s board and executive team.

The event underscored the government’s and private sector’s shared commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia’s agri-food sector and reducing dependence on imports.

Over the past two years, Tanmiah has invested more than SAR 1.5 billion (US$400 million) in expanding its domestic operations, while facilitating over SAR 400 million (US$107 million) in foreign direct investment to attract more private sector participation in the agri-food industry.

These developments come at a time when Saudi Arabia’s poultry market is projected to grow from US$5.13 billion in 2025 to nearly US$6.91 billion by 2030.

Expanding capacity and driving innovation

The new poultry processing plant, known as Majmaa 2, is one of Tanmiah’s most advanced facilities to date.

Built to international standards, it features cutting-edge technology capable of processing large birds, an industry first in the Kingdom.

It also integrates a biological wastewater treatment system with a capacity exceeding 6,000 cubic meters per day, with treated water reused for tree irrigation.

Plans are in place to incorporate renewable energy solutions, including solar panels, as part of Tanmiah’s commitment to sustainable operations.

Majmaa 2 features a dedicated innovation section showcasing Tanmiah’s award-winning value-added products, including the Taste Secrets range, which received the 3-Star Superior Taste Award 2025 from the International Taste Institute in Brussels.

The facility will also be surrounded by 150,000 newly planted trees, contributing to Tanmiah’s “One Million Trees” initiative, which aims to eliminate 243,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions cumulatively and recycle three billion liters of wastewater annually.

Chairman Amr Al-Dabbagh said, “By investing in advanced infrastructure, technology, and sustainable practices, Tanmiah is not only scaling its operations but also helping to build a stronger, more secure food ecosystem for the Kingdom, while also driving the transformation of the Saudi poultry industry into a global benchmark for excellence and innovation.

Strengthening feed production and integration

Complementing the poultry expansion, Tanmiah’s new Dahna Feed Mill further reinforces its vertically integrated operations.

Currently in its trial production phase, the facility has a capacity of 40 metric tons per hour and is strategically located near the company’s main farming zones to enhance logistics and reduce costs.

The mill operates on a fully automated production line, with advanced biosecurity protocols and quality control systems in place.

Solar integration is also under evaluation, in line with Tanmiah’s sustainability agenda. By producing premium-quality feed close to its poultry operations, the company expects to optimise supply chain efficiency and improve feed quality, directly supporting product consistency and animal health.

Group CEO Zulfiqar Hamadani described the expansion as a defining moment for the company and the industry. “The inauguration of Tanmiah’s new primary processing facility represents a significant milestone for both our company and the Kingdom. Designed as the largest and most advanced plant of its kind in the region, it demonstrates our commitment to deploying world-class technologies that elevate product quality, enhance consumer value, and reinforce national food security,” he said.
