Pet Fair Asia 2025 kicks off in just over 40 days with record global lineup

More than 2,500 exhibitors from China and around the world are expected to fill over 310,000 square meters of exhibition space, surpassing last year’s milestone event.

CHINA – Pet Fair Asia 2025 is on track to be the largest and most internationally diverse edition in its 27-year history as it returns to Shanghai from August 20–24, 2025.

With just 42 days to go, the event is poised to set new records in scale, innovation, and global participation, cementing its position as the leading pet industry trade show in the Asia-Pacific region.

More than 2,500 exhibitors from China and around the world are expected to fill over 310,000 square meters of exhibition space, surpassing last year’s milestone event.

The five-day fair will spotlight cutting-edge developments in pet care, products, and services, with a special emphasis on the expanding supply chain segment and the fast-growing small animal sector.

Supply chain and small pets drive expansion

First introduced in 2024, Pet Fair Asia SUPPLY has rapidly become a cornerstone of the show. This year, the dedicated supply chain exhibition will expand by 30% to span eight outdoor halls, hosting more than 700 exhibitors across 55,000 square meters.

The expansion will feature smart factory solutions, intelligent warehousing, and next-generation manufacturing technologies tailored for pet product producers.

Meanwhile, responding to rising demand in China’s third-largest pet category, small animals, reptiles, and aquatics, Pet Fair Asia 2025 will dedicate an entire 15,000-square-meter hall to this sector.

The hall will feature innovations in nutrition, healthcare, and wellness for birds, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles, and fish, a space designed to reflect the segment’s growing 20% share of the domestic market.

A magnet for global brands and visitors

Confirmed participating brands include industry leaders such as Acana, ADM, Boehringer Ingelheim, Elanco, Farmina, Mars, Royal Canin, and Ziwi. National pavilions from Japan, the USA, Turkey, South Korea, and New Zealand will also add to the global flair.

International interest is already running high. In 2024, the show drew over 124,000 professionals from 91 countries, with a 41.8% increase in international visitors from the previous year.

Organisers expect these figures to climb again, bolstered by China’s recent visa-free access for travelers from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay.

The return of the Pet Fair Asia Buyer Club is also fueling buzz. “Since its launch 1 month ago, applications have been pouring in from all corners of the globe,” organisers said. Club members will benefit from complimentary hotel accommodations, personalised matchmaking services, and access to exclusive networking events.

In parallel, pre-registration has also opened for Pet Fair South East Asia 2025, taking place from October 29–31 in Bangkok. Early registrants will gain access to PreConnect, a new online matchmaking platform designed to connect buyers with exhibitors from 40 countries ahead of the event.
