Reinartz joins Kahl Group to boost innovation in feed and biomass processing

The integration aims to strengthen capabilities between Reinartz and Kahl’s existing subsidiaries, including Amandus Kahl (feed pelleting), Schule Mühlenbau (grain milling), and Neuhaus Neotec (food processing).

GERMANY – Reinartz GmbH & Co. KG, a global leader in mechanical extraction and processing, has officially joined the Kahl Group, one of Europe’s leading process engineering companies, in a strategic move set to accelerate innovation in feed and biomass technology.

The acquisition positions both companies to lead in sustainable food, feed, and biomass processing solutions while preserving Reinartz’s independence and legacy.

With 170 years of experience, Reinartz, is known for its expertise in screw presses, filtration systems, and separation technologies.

Following this acquisition, Reinartz will continue to operate under its own name. Its 50-strong workforce remains intact, and its production site will remain in Neuss.

The integration aims to strengthen capabilities between Reinartz and Kahl’s existing subsidiaries, including Amandus Kahl (feed pelleting), Schule Mühlenbau (grain milling), and Neuhaus Neotec (food processing).

By pooling their expertise, the companies plan to enhance ingredient processing, support innovation in alternative proteins, and enter new markets more quickly.

With this merger, we want to boost our innovative power and market presence in the long term. Together with the Kahl Group, we want to develop new strategic partnerships, expand our distribution channels, and enter new markets,” said Niklas Stadermann, who will help lead Reinartz under the new structure.

Reinartz’s technologies are already playing a critical role in circular and sustainable systems. The company’s screw presses and separation systems are used globally to process insect larvae into protein-rich press cakes, extract high-quality vegetable oils, and convert biowaste into energy. Its solutions also support ongoing research in process engineering.

Uwe Wehrmann, CEO of the Kahl Group, emphasised the cultural and strategic fit behind the move, saying,

Reinartz is the perfect addition to this portfolio. Like all companies in our group, Reinartz is committed to values such as reliability, trust, and a long-term perspective. These values are the very foundation of a successful partnership in which we learn from each other and get better together.

With the integration, the Kahl Group, comprising seven independently operating companies including Devex, Heinen, Neo Montec, and Pruess, broadens its already robust offering, from feed and oat mills to coffee roasting and food freezing systems.

Reinartz’s inclusion strengthens the group’s footprint in both alternative protein processing and sustainable biomass utilisation.

Additionally, the merger brings a leadership transition at Reinartz. Michael Moll, the current managing director, is stepping down from his role, but will remain closely involved as a consultant and member of the advisory board. Niklas Stadermann and Artur Kühl will now form the new management team.
