The fully integrated plant operates around the clock in three shifts, producing approximately 480 tons of high-quality compound feed daily.
KAZAKHSTAN – Türkiye’s only publicly traded milling machinery manufacturer, Imas, has marked a significant milestone in Kazakhstan’s feed industry by completing a high-capacity feed mill for Nurym Group.
According to Imas, the facility is now one of the largest and most advanced feed mills in the country and surrounding regions, boasting a production capacity of 20 tons per hour.
Located in Shymkent, the fully integrated plant operates around the clock in three shifts, producing approximately 480 tons of high-quality compound feed daily. The facility caters to a diverse range of livestock, including cattle, poultry, and small ruminants.
The greenfield project was delivered as a turnkey solution by Imas, a globally recognised leader in grain and feed milling technologies.
The Turkish company was responsible for the entire project scope, from design and engineering to manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and user training.
“We provided not only the complete range of feed milling machinery, but also designed, manufactured, and erected the steel construction of the plant,” Imas noted.
“Our team delivered comprehensive training not just on machine performance, but also on operating the feed laboratory equipment available at the facility.”
The plant features a full processing line starting from raw material intake via steel storage silos, followed by grinding, mixing, conditioning, pelleting, molasses addition, cooling, and optional crumbling.
Final products are then screened, packed into 25 kg bags, and prepared for distribution.
Imas’ Viteral prowess at the core of the plant
Central to the plant’s capabilities is the advanced Viteral series equipment supplied by Imas. The Viteral pellet press (VPP) is designed for high throughput, capable of reaching up to 30 tons per hour.
It features a touchscreen panel for precise control over critical process parameters, including time and temperature.
The Viteral paddle mixer (VMX) also stands out for its rapid mixing efficiency and sample homogeneity. According to independent laboratory tests, the VMX received top grades for its mixing performance.
Meanwhile, the Viteral hammer mill (VHM), featuring a pre-crushing blade system and fixed hammer design, can process up to 50 tons per hour, offering both high efficiency and durability.
To ensure seamless operations, the feed mill is equipped with a central automation system that monitors every stage, from intake to packaging.
The system provides real-time data on production output, ingredient consumption, and equipment performance.
Notably, the automation enables Imas’ after-sales team to access the plant remotely for troubleshooting and technical support, ensuring rapid responses and operational continuity.
Founded in 1989, Imas has over 35 years of experience in building feed and grain milling facilities worldwide, completing over 500 projects in more than 100 countries across five continents.
