Zoomark 2025 draws global pet industry to Bologna for biggest edition yet

Visitors include independent pet retailers, groomers, breeders, wholesalers, e-commerce buyers, and consultants, offering unmatched networking potential for every stakeholder.

ITALY – The international pet industry is converging in Bologna this week as Zoomark 2025, the 21st edition of Europe’s premier pet food and pet care trade fair, unfolds at the BolognaFiere Exhibition Centre.

Running from May 5 to 7, the event promises to be the largest and most dynamic in its history, featuring 1,300 exhibitors from 56 countries, and covering a record 90,000 square metres of exhibition space.

Zoomark has long been recognised as the industry’s most influential business and innovation platform in Europe, and this year’s edition is no exception.

With a 23% increase in exhibitors and 32% more floor space than in 2023, the event showcases the growing vitality and global reach of the pet sector.

Zoomark is the ideal platform to develop new partnerships, gain knowledge, and exchange ideas with a global audience looking for new business opportunities,” organisers stated.

From pet food manufacturers to technology providers, from veterinarians to distributors, the event brings together the full supply chain.

Visitors include independent pet retailers, groomers, breeders, wholesalers, e-commerce buyers, and consultants, offering unmatched networking potential for every stakeholder.

This year, Zoomark features six dedicated special areas designed to highlight the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of the industry.

Atelier

At the Atelier, excellence in pet fashion, design, and gourmet food takes centre stage. “More than just a showcase of premium products, Atelier is a celebration of the passion and dedication of those who strive to push the boundaries of what is possible and set new standards of quality and innovation,” said organisers.

The display features luxury accessories, high-end cuisine, and brands defined by innovation and sustainability.

Factory

Meanwhile, Factory is the nucleus for supply chain professionals. Focused on machinery, packaging, raw materials, and functional ingredients such as insect flour and plant-based proteins, this area provides a comprehensive look at how the industry is moving toward sustainable and efficient production.

Factory is the dynamic hub where you can explore the sustainable and cutting-edge solutions that are revolutionising the industry and distribution,” the organisers noted.

Pawfect!

In Hall 25, the newly launched Pawfect area is captivating grooming and pet wellness professionals with live demonstrations, seminars, and workshops.

Events include the On Hair Dog Edition by Vittorio Masciarelli and the Dog Massage Meeting with Alessandra Scatà.

Pawfect represents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the future of grooming and pet wellness,” said a Zoomark spokesperson.

Next 5.0

Tech and innovation take the spotlight at Next 5.0, a hub for start-ups and high-tech companies in pet IoT, monitoring, food, and entertainment. The area encourages dialogue between young innovators and established players.

Every exhibition becomes an opportunity to explore the innovations that are revolutionising the pet tech world and contributing to a more advanced future for animal welfare,” organisers explained.

Pet Vision

At the heart of Zoomark lies Pet Vision, an immersive space for exploring market trends, product innovation, and future directions. It’s where retailers and industry leaders gain insights into tomorrow’s bestsellers.

On Tuesday afternoon, the area will host the eagerly anticipated Pet Vision Awards and the NEXT Award for Pet Innovators, celebrating the most forward-thinking products and companies.

Aqua Project

Also returning is the Aqua Project, which reaffirms the rising profile of aquarium and terrarium technology.

Located in Hall 29, the area showcases energy-efficient aquarium systems, balanced nutrition, and new accessories, underscoring the segment’s commitment to design and sustainability.

Supported by the Italian Small Animal Association (AIPA), it serves as a key touchpoint for aquarists and aquatic industry leaders.

The fair runs from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on May 5 and 6, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on May 7, giving attendees ample time to explore the full spectrum of the industry in one location.
